U.S.: Hillary Fundraiser Used Position to Scam $20 Million
December 04, 2007 1:56 PM
One of Sen. Hillary Clinton's major fundraisers, Norman Hsu, used his position in the campaign to help carry out a $20 million Ponzi-like fraud scheme, federal prosecutors said today.
"Hsu allegedly made direct and implied threats to these victims, leading them to believe that their failure to make the required political contributions would adversely impact their ongoing relationship" with Hsu's investment company, U.S. attorney Michael J. Garcia said.
Hsu was indicted by a federal grand jury for carrying out "a massive scheme that defrauded investors across the United States." He was also charged with violating Federal Election Campaign laws. Prosecutors say Hsu used others, essentially as fronts, to make contributions for him, and he then reimbursed them.
Sen. Clinton, D-N.Y., distanced herself earlier this year from Hsu when it was revealed he was a fugitive from justice from a fraud conviction in California. Since 2004, Hsu personally contributed at least $600,000 to Democrats under his own name.
He is currently in custody in California.
Read the indictment against Hsu.

While she may not have been part of this guys scam, I have to say I for one lost a Great deal of faith in Mrs. Clinton after being Spammed with emails asking me for money to support her campaign. This started because I sent her a email which she likely never saw and unsure why i even bothered or thought she would listen or care what someone like myself who is but one vote would think or feel or wonder about regarding her beliefs etc.
I got over 60 emails in a 3 week period asking me for money both by "her" and "Bill".
They offered the chance to "win" lunch with her and with him if I donated to her campaign.
That there showed me alot about her and I for one hope to find another candidate I can feel good about supporting.
I know no one is perfect but darn can we not expect a little better from those hoping to run this country?
I am no one special in the world. I have no money. I am a disabled, single, Mom who does her best to make it in this Country. I do not follow all the political news etc. I just try to know what each person running stands for and believes in and try to go from there. I really thought that Hillary was the one that showed the most promise. Until I was bombarded with raffle options and just plain Begging of money.

No wonder, this country is going to hell in a handbasket. You Morons defend these corrupt politician no matter what they do. Instead of holding them accountable, you blame someone else or point out how much worse the other guy is. You people are a bunch pathetic lemmings.

Bush is the biggest drug lord out there..He has or children getting killed for Heroin(opium)and oil.. Lets get the FACTS STRAIGHT.Don`t get me wrong though the reason the world trade center was destroyed the way it was had to do with the only way they could fight back against the crimes our Government had and still has been committing. He is not God and we had know reason to envade a third world country. They couldn`t overtake china and vietnam (also all about the Opium).
People are eigther plan stupid or blind.
Bsuh needs to stand up and five back all that he has stolen. As he packs his pockets with blood money. How he can smile is even more a clue to his way of thinking.. When is it enough?? This ongoing drug war had neem planned years ago. With the leaders already picked out to keep the a code of silence.
I`m fully aware and have seen a great deal and have listened to many accounts of others opinions. Think about what bothers you ... Then stand up and be yourselves. Then you may start to see what it means to think as one...Daniel

Well if Hsu gets time in jail, if Hillary get's into the White House she will sell him a pardon. So she said she returned $23,000.00 but she didn't tell you how much she kelp, but you will never know will you people.

Well, if ANYONE thinks that one side is cleaner than the other isn't old enough to be in school yet. The rest of you can blame whoever you want, but politics in this country is a dirty game, and campaign finance laws made it possible.
" Buckley v. Valeo, 424 U.S. 1 (1976), was a case in which the Supreme Court of the United States upheld federal limits on campaign contributions and ruled that spending money to influence elections is a form of constitutionally protected free speech. The court also stated candidates can give unlimited amounts of money to their own campaigns."(Wikipedia)
If that isn't the recipe for scurvy fundraising, I don't know what is.

Wake up guys, they all have skeletons. If you dig a little deeper, I bet we can all find something on each and every candidate. Why does it seem, the Clinton's who did so much for this country, are always the constant attack for the media and the right wing.

Hillary's problems:
HSU : She gave back $600,000. Hmm... who did she give the money back to? IF the money was illegal, who did it go back to? HSU? That is good, because he will be able to use it to defend himself. How does he report this to the IRS? Wait!!! He is a convicted felon. Doesn't need to.
EXPERIENCE: She has "35 years of experience". What Experience? Oh, she was the wife of the President and the Governor. Sorry you Lieutenant Governors and Al Gore, you were just a show-piece to fool the American electorate (Sorry Al). It was Hillary who contributed to all the policy. Al only went for State Funerals. That is why he didn't win the presidency, not because he won the popular vote. That was only a myth.
VICE PRESIDENCY: She is behind by more than 100 pledged delegates, behind by more than 100 total delegates and behind by about 2.3 million votes (without counting today's Mississippi Obama blow-out). But she has it "nailed down" via back room deals with the Super Delegates. So she is going to offer the "Vice President" position to Obama. Must be that Obama will be like Al Gore. It will be Chelsea who will suddenly have "12 plus" years of experience in the Government, wouldn't she? After all, she was "there" with her mother too. Sorry Barack, you were again a fleeting thorn on her side. It was Chelsea who was at her mother's side every step of the way making decisions while Hillary was in the Senate. Well, these stories should come home to roost soon (I can only hope with the Clintons).
If she were to steal this election like she plans to via back room deals, I hope there is a revolution and our country says "NO MORE" in unison. If it does happen, I think our country will be destined to go only downhill from then on.

FOR SALE: One Term as President of the United States of America. Accepting offers over $400 Million. Send debit memo to citizens of USA. -- The MOST important thing about the $23,000 is that "every little bit" counts when one is buying the Presidency. If you or I or anybody else was willing to fund our own campaign with a couple of billion dollars in cash, guess who our next president would be? It is way past time for REAL election reform and TERM LIMITS on Public Office. It seems that "experience" and "lack of experience" in government office have BOTH turned into bad things. We could ALL have a lot more of what we want if our government (local, state, and federal) didn't take so much from us and give so little in return. God bless us all!

Obama needs to let his campaign workers that dirty statements like 'blue dress is out of place in this campaign. This will hurt the Democratic party. It may result in loss of support.

Hillary's claim that she gained Presidential experience by being First Lady is like Don Mattingly's wife saying she could play First Base for the NY Yankees in the next World Series because she went to all the games and practices!!
