Bush in the Lap of Saudi Luxury
January 14, 2008 1:07 PM
The minute President George Bush landed in Saudi Arabia he was thrown into the lap of luxury.
Saudi King Abdullah personally greeted the president at the airport, according to ABC News' Ann Compton, who is traveling with the commander in chief.
And tomorrow President Bush will actually spend the night in a palace on the king's royal horse farm.
Not too shabby for the president but what message does it send?
THE BLOTTER RECOMMENDS
U.S. officials say Saudi Arabia continues to look the other way at wealthy individuals identified as sending millions of dollars to al Qaeda, as the Blotter on ABCNews.com reported this past September.
Not one person identified by the United States and the United Nations as a terror financier has been prosecuted by the Saudis, Stuart Levey, the undersecretary of the Treasury in charge of tracking terror financing, told ABC News in September.
Even Yasin al Qadi, a wealthy businessman named on both the U.S. and U.N. lists of al Qaeda financiers one month after the 9/11 attacks, remains free and a prominent figure in Saudi society. Al Qadi has repeatedly denied the allegations, and his London-based attorney, Guy Martin of Carter-Ruck law firm, said the United States has never produced any evidence in support of the allegations against his client.
And just one month after the September report, the U.S. government added three more Saudi financiers to the tally.

We are vassals to Saudi Arabia

I did not vote for Bush either time, because I felt that his ego was far too dangerous for the American people and the world.
I realize that all Presidential candidates have large egos, but let's hope we have learned a lesson regarding the consequences for electing a President whose "fire in the belly" is the driving force that shapes our world.

I just think Bush is like any other latin american country, corrupt and a liar , but more to worry a lot of power in his hands, but on the other side is not completely his fault because with all the information everywhere about stealing the elections, ties with the saudis , spending more money on war than education and medical care , the fault is almost all of the american people for not acting or impeaching him, i'm sure he is to blame for killing more than tyrans from other countries, we have to learn from these kind of mistakes , otherwise will be useless to keep whining over and over, best regards to all!

How is it that one minute Bush is accused of being this puppet idiot from Texas with a silver spoon in his mouth to…. BUSH the diabolical criminal mastermind of everything bad in the world including the weather. I drive a 1970’s convertible that gets 11 m.p.g. but I did hug a part of a tree the other day right before I threw it in my fireplace…..

Abdul,
Ya see, he's actually both. We just have to make you work for the answer.

This is one sick administration we have in D.C., Of course he is walking hand in hand with the Saudie's. His days are numbered now, (Thand God) so he is just making sure that his payments will keep on coming after he is out of office. The scary part is the lead republican at this time, (McClain) has no plans other than continue what, GOOD OLD BOY "W' has given our country.

i'm actually Saudi, and the Saudi government does not look the other way regarding financing terrorists .. Actually, the government has banned all money-giving philanthropy, and excluded thos officially permitted by the Saudi Government. On a 2nd note .. I've lived in Riyadh the capital all my life (27 years) and have never heard of this Yassin Al Qadi.
