Pentagon Won't Probe KBR Rape Charges
January 08, 2008 9:00 AM
The Defense Department's top watchdog has declined to investigate allegations that an American woman working under an Army contract in Iraq was raped by her co-workers.
The case of former Halliburton/KBR employee Jamie Leigh Jones gained national attention last month. An ABC News investigation revealed how an earlier investigation into Jones' alleged gang-rape in 2005 had not resulted in any prosecution, and that neither Jones nor Democratic and Republican lawmakers have been able to get answers from the Bush administration on the state of her case.

Did you really expect that the most corrupt administration (and their lap dogs) since Nixon, would investigate Cheney's company...when he leaves the White House he will benefit from his "blind" holding in said company to the tune of ..maybe 100 million dollars. Why was the war started again??? The press has been incompetant, and as much responcible for the crimes of the last 7 years...because they were politically correct...didn't want to ruffle any feathers...free press my ###! Pathetic word smiths of pandering.

Hello stereotypically conspiracy laden simple minded liberal? It's good to know that you're real. I was beginning to doubt you existed. Also unicorns.

Well, a unicorn could do a better job on foreign policy than the idiot we have in office now. If only the decisions were being made by a make-believe fantasy creature....

There r articles that claim all calls and smesses are kept by the phone company. I too am a lawyer practicing in Europe, and I never heard of such a concept, or successful subpoena. Can u please provide us with a case study or objective facts that this is in fact the case. And for how long is such data stored by the phone companies?
Best Wishes!

Why limit the probe to sex assault charges as opposed to Haliburton's war profiting assault upon the American taxpayer. This is the present level of "false" accusations leveled against the Bush Administration's deep pocketed crony and retirement piggy bank for Vice President Dick Cheney.
But I'm sure that if Tim Russert invites Mr. Cheney to be a guest on Meet the Press, and in his patronizing manner of treating the Bush Administration, we'll find that Haliburton, as a stalwart servant in the war on terror has not only been unfairly maligned but under compensated.

Daunte,
You are so right. It is totally ridiculous that an American citizen working for an American company in an area protected by the American military and legally deemed "American soil" should expect to have access to American jurisprudence. What a crazy liberal concept. But you know those stupid liberals--always getting hung up on B.S. like the Constitution and Bill of Rights and crap like that, just because that stuff is supposedly what we are fighting for and why this woman was in harms way in the first place. You go guy--your dazzling rhetoric, complete with references to sparkly mythical creatures, is sure to win some converts to the rapidly dwindling cult of "everything is the fault of the liberals."

Bush will reap the benefits he is sowing currently ....when he is no longer in office ...dum...yet smart enough to do what's in his favor! I wonder what our new President will have to offer & if they will better our country.

Regardless of how you feel about the war or our current administration, this woman needs the justice system to work for her. Gang rape?! And no one will help her out? Come on! That's the real issue here, please check your bull#### at the door.
