Rezko Played Bigger Role, Obama Says
March 14, 2008 6:53 PM
An indicted Chicago businessman and political operator played a much bigger fundraising role in Barack Obama's political career than the White House hopeful had previously disclosed, the candidate tells the Chicago Tribune for an exclusive story late Friday afternoon.
Antoin "Tony" Rezko, on trial for corruption, raised roughly $250,000 for Obama -- more than $100,000 more than had been previously discovered by enterprising reporters.
Obama also admitted that he made repeated lapses in judgement by involving Rezko in a complex house purchase, the paper reports.
The candidate insisted that despite Rezko's efforts to help him, the politically savvy businessman expected no favors from him, the paper says. "No, precisely because I'd known him for [many] years and he hadn't asked me for favors," it quotes Obama as saying.
Obama and his campaign have repeatedly insisted they have answered all queries regarding his relationship with Rezko, but "his campaign's piecemeal written statements have left lingering uncertainties about whether the up-and-coming senator exchanged favors with the target of a federal probe," the Tribune notes.

Regarding the poster who asked why this is suddenly coming to light... a reporter asked about this in San Antonio when Obama refused to answer any more questions and walked out.
Also on Wright... after denying that he was part of the camp, now Wright is officially gone from the camp, Obama once again is caught lying to the voters.

The BIG OBAMACON is slowly unfolding.

Well, you cann't blame Obama for trying. After all, he is not running for VP he is running for President. He will never get my vote, primary or otherwise.

What a joke this Obama is. God to see how close we were. Thank god for FOX and ABC who report this imperative info. I am so happy today. Time to concede Obama the ride is over...

I LOVE HOW THE OBAMAMANIACS SAY THAT SINCE THERE WAS A SCANDAL WITH THE CLINTONS THAT HAVE BEEN VETTED AND FOUND NOTHING! ITS OK TO DO WRONG AND LIE ABOUT THE ISSUES! OK? THIS SHOULD BE LOOKED INTO IN EVERY WAY! IM VERY SICK OF THE WAY THE MEDIA IS NOT COVERING THE ISSUE!

WHY ARE THE NETWORKS NOT REPORTING THAT HIS PRESS STATEMENT WAS GIVEN TO THE HUFFINGTON POST INSTEAD OF A GENERAL RELEASE? This guy has more skeletons than Dr. Kervorkian and can't explain why he didn't put 2 and 2 together for more than 20 years but his JUDGEMENT is what we should judge instead of his EXPERIENCE?
Posted by: tider1701 | Mar 14, 2008 11:34:30 PM
America can't take THIS kind of judgement.

While there is a good amount of reporting on the internet, why are major media reporting so little during the national news shows? Why do I get the feeling that the major media outlets seem to shun a legitimate question on a presidential candidate's judgement, including ABC? It is not the same as being stuck with a real, but wayward uncle, but rather an issue of free choice association lasting for 20 years. And while his wife does not sound nearly as pathetic as the pastor, the emotional undertones are telling. Tough to believe he is not influenced by these major figures in his life. Obama showed promise to bridge the racial divide by looking forward and recognize that while the past cannot be changed, the future is made up of different and new people who did not commit the sins of the past. He just blew it. PS. I would not have voted for him anyway, but that is for totally different reasons.

What has happened to the serious "press" in this country. It's all about what sells -- build up Britney Spears, then tear her to shreds.
They did a great job of building up Obama as a "holier than thou" candidate -- even telling us they tear up at his speeches. Well, so did lots of Germans when they listened to Hitler. Great Speaker doesn't mean S**T. But, now that they've built him up, now they will tear him down. Interesting thing though, Obama waited until he had a delegate lead to offer this important tidbit of info. To hell with all of 'em!

All the president candidates this time are worst. We can not trust them to lead the country. Vote for me, I am honest, I am outsider, I have a big dream, I have a great hope, I never accept any money from anyone, and I can even tell you the true that I don't want to do my home work, I collect welfare for living right now. Finnaly, trust me and vote for me, your future president.
Thank You,

Holy cow! Now this too! What in the world is going on with Obama. Did he realize that he can`t hide this stuff anymore or did he finally figure out that he`s done. Better quit now before tearing the party apart any more with supporters attacking everyone and calling them racist. Obama should have accepted the VP position from Hillary instead of lying some more. Too late now Obama. Where are the Obama worshipers now that their prophet has disclosed his true self. `Change`alright and `hope` you can fool everyone with, but no more. I want to see all those supporters try and blame others or bash Hillary for this. American Idol candidacy by image and advertisement consultants is now over so let`s hear the excuses please. Hate to say, but not really, TOLD YOU SO Obamaniacs or should I say cult followers.

This man has too many lapses in judgment and is not looking to be a transparent candidate. He is too shady and the mainstream media, with the exception of the Chicago papers, conservative periodicals, and Brian Ross are actually doing the jobs that so-called "journalists" are not doing. That halo around Obama is wearing thin. I expect a thorough analysis about Obama. And to think that this whole thing started with Bill Cunningham mentioning the media's lack of involvement in exposing Obama's shady dealings as well as his middle name. Way to go MSM or should I say hacks for Obama.

Some people are ignorant which is ridiculous folks sitting around fighting stories that's baseless probably if we all do the comparison of obama and hillary there's a lot of different things about both candidates.Probably these are new sound tracks people will be singing everyday (Rezko & Wright) till republican win November 2008 it's scary gas is $4 per gallon already, economic upside down, iraq war killing us with debt from china and america losing values around the globe those are things we all should be talking about at moment not stabbing each other all day about stupid topics like tony corruption trial and pastor wright comments.
