Let's Get Ready to Rumble!

Troopergate blog: Let's Get Ready to Rumble

Get ready, Troopergate fans! The Alaska Legislature will receive the findings of its controversial Troopergate investigation on Friday morning, according to its Web site.

Gov. Sarah Palin originally said she'd cooperate, but switched her tune after joining the GOP ticket. Since then, the campaign has waged a no-holds-barred effort to discredit the investigation and just about anyone involved with it, alleging bias and unconstitutionality.

The public reaction to the report on Friday will tell how successful that effort has been. The Legislative Council – the 14-member bipartisan panel which unanimously approved the probe in July – will convene at 9 a.m. Alaska time to receive the investigative report prepared by its special counsel, Stephen Branchflower. It will then vote to make the findings public.

Of course, this is Troopergate, so there’s an arcane twist: the Alaska Supreme Court could intervene. The judges are set to hear oral arguments Wednesday on behalf of several GOP state lawmakers who, with the help of a conservative Texas-based legal foundation, are appealing to stop the investigation. A lower judge dismissed their suit last week.

The judges are expected to make their ruling by Thursday.

The Alaskan Legislature's gearing up to review the information from their Troopergate investigation puts Sarah Palin in another tough spot.

I have yet to see a news organization offer a charictirization of the political leanings (historic and personal) af the Alaskan Supreme Court. Such an analysis would be greatly appreciated.

Only one reason all this time & money is being spent to suppress an investigation. She's guilty. Innocent people want the truth out, the guilty want the truth hidden from view. Nixonesque, eh?

If the Alaskan Supreme Court decides to cover this up......ALL HELL SHOULD BREAK LOOSE !

This entire investigation was approved unanimously by the Alaskan Legislature & Palin herself.... so only guilt would be the reason for covering it up.

It's pretty hard for them to distinguish themselves from BushCo when they're working so hard to suppress information.

I read, I think on mudflats blog, that the probe was partly her idea. Think about it. If she were only governor and had misused the authority of her office, she'd only get her hand spanked. Big whoop. So she said, let's get this over with. Anyone with the sense God gave a goose knows that the consequences to a VP candidate or VP are of a different order of magnitude. Altogether. "A different order of magnitude." She's not stupid. Well, not *that* stupid.

I hope people are aware of the part religion plays in all of this. Sarah Palin believes she was hand picked by God to conquer the evil in this world, whatever and whomever that may be according to her rules and standards.
She sees the investigation as evil, the investigators as evildoers and the public outcry for justice an opposition to her quest to fulfill her preordained destiny.
If this really is divine justice I hope it is settled as quickly and painlessly as possible to allow our country to move on to solving the real life issues we face, and let Alaska deal with this matter in the way the constitution allows.

Today is the Big Kahuna! Affidavit's lean's towards Todd Palin taking the fall for her wife, but here's the big luau for the kau, kau! The investigator has recorded conversation's with the governor's advisor's and you know how that work's. Writing an affidavit and listening to an actual tape recording,99.9 percent of the time, the recording win's.
