Palin Aides to Testify
October 06, 2008 11:20 AM
FW: Troopergate blog update: Palin aides to testify
Seven aides to Gov. Sarah Palin will honor subpoenas to be interviewed as part of the Alaska State Legislature’s “Troopergate” investigation, according to the Anchorage Daily News.
Late last month, Alaska attorney general Tavis Colberg sued to stop the aides from having to speak with the legislature’s special counsel, Stephen Branchflower. Last week a judge ruled against Colberg.
Palin’s husband Todd still has not submitted to an interview with Branchflower, for which he was also subpoenaed. The “First Dude’s” lawyer told the Daily News he was in contact with the investigator, but that an upcoming action by the state Supreme Court could impact Todd’s decision.
The attorney, Thomas Van Flein, said Todd will cooperate with a parallel Troopergate investigation conducted by the state Personnel Board, the paper reported.
Palin and the McCain-Palin campaign have argued since September that the Legislature’s investigation was unconstitutional and politically slanted, and that the Personnel Board was the only legitimate forum to investigate claims she misused her power to pursue a personal vendetta against a state trooper who had been involved in a messy divorce from Palin’s sister.

She's the one that started this investigation in the first place.. now it's "unconstitutional".
Palin is lying to the public BEFORE SHE'S EVEN IN OFFICE. She is a joke.

is this not the exact reason palin is on the attack this week? she wants to talk about speculative guilt by association against Obama, rather than the fact that she will soon be a convicted criminal.

Maybe Sarah should be talking about her own corruption instead of trying to make something up about Obama.
BTW: for the Republicans who will try and claim Ayers is a real association, maybe they should look at McCain and his Mafia ties. That's a REAL association and it seems to have escaped most media scrutiny.

This will help Palin get acquainted with our legal system.

If they don't honor the subpoenas toss them in Jail. It would not work with anyone else.... :-(

The McCain-Palin campaign is making a shameful argument that has no merit in honesty. It's obvious that they're trying to supress the truth from coming out. If Sarah Palin has nothing to hide then it makes sense to cooperate fully with the investigation - that's the American way.

If anythign this "scandal" emphasizes how irrelevant Sara Palin should be. Prior to potentially becoming President of the United States of America, her biggest concern was firing a highway patrol officer? The joke is on the media for continuing to treat her as a legitimate candidate for national office.

Just like the Bush Admin.....

If they have nothing to hide, then there should be no problem with him testifying. I feel that they are hiding something, but because she is running for VP, they have to do everything they can to cover it up. She abused her power and now it coming back to bite her in the butt.

Did ABC forget to add that the guy who was fired was an APPOINTED Cabinet member who could be fired at will for any reason whatsoever? Just as the President can fire his cabinet members whenever and for whatever reasons he decides to do so, the Governor has the very same authority. This is a political whitch hunt and ABC displays it's bias once again by not explaining ALL of the facts.

I have followed this investigation since she was selected by McCain as his choice for Vice President. I have divorce trial transcripts, governmental/agency documents, e-mails, etc. So far have about 9 damaging documents against Sarah Palin. I was shocked at the cover-up attempts by John McCain and Sarah Palin since she was selected. It has gone from her co-operating to block, stall, stop, avoid, refuse the investigation. This is a shock since legislative investigation was voted upon by 100% of all legislators - Republicans and Democrats. And investigation was started in July before Sarah was chosen to be a Vice Presidentila candidate.
These witnesses chose not to honor subpoenas earlier and then sued to stop subpoenas and judge said they had to comply. The attorney general sued to stop. This tactic is now used to make it appear they are co-operating when they truly are not - and attempt to delay decision further. NOTE THIS ATTORNEY GENERAL IS APPOINTED BY SARAH PALIN. SO HIS PRESENT PROFESSIONAL LIVELIHOOD DEPENDS UPON HELPING SARAH PALIN - PLAIN AND SIMPLE ASSUMPTION. TALK ABOUT A CONFLICT OF INTEREST FOR GETTING AT THE TRUTH.
Attempts to stop legislative investigation lost last week. Then Palin attorney filed an emergency appeal last Friday. Hearing is set for this Wednesday. Legislative Investigation is to be done by this Friday.
Truth needs to come out! I am not sure why press is not investigating Palin more for her non-co-operation.
All Americans have an absolute right to know before November 4th. Investigation started prior to her being chosen and has a right to continue!! If John McCain top attorney from Bush present hierarchy stops investigation at appeal level All Americans must assume she is guilty. Ethics Board where she and McCain want it is private only and not for public knowledge, and does have presence of bias siding with Sarah Palin since Ethics Board too is appointed position by Sarah Palin. Legislative Investigation is for public knowledge under Public Records Act.
I say it would be great if investigation is done and published results are available Tuesday prior to appeal. I am Republican, but alarmed at the seen cover-up attempts by Sarah Palin and John McCain

Sarah palin knows that she is guilty as sin and wants her own corruptiive and illegal behaviors covered up. She is right there in the thick of corruption with this administration and her fellow republican's. They continue to lie and paint their opponents as corrupt. The middleclass young and older voters are not stupid and can see clearly through these false allegations. Obama is going to be the next President of the US and Joe Biden is going to be the next VP.
The republicans have no where to run and no where to hide from their appalling, corrupted behavior.

Palin has the nerve to talk about Omama - when she infact is one step away from being a felon. Troopergate, tax evasion, witchcraft. This is the best John McCain could do????

Totally disappointed at Palin...
I am switching vote.

So much for transparency in government.

Can one of you McClones please explain to me how you excuse Sarah Palin's (and her husband's) association with the Alaska Independence Party? You know, the Alaska Independence Party which hates the Unites States and wants Alaska to secede from the United States. Who is the real terrorist here? Sarah Palin, that's who.
Posted by: Republican Christians for Obama! | Oct 6, 2008 7:08:56 PM
I also switched my vote to Obama. In my opinion, Todd Palin should be in jail. How can Sarah Palin say she is just like everyone else, yet I'd be incarcerated if I ignored a subpoena? To say this is politically motivated when it began long before she was a VP candidate is ludicrous.
