Palin Aides to Testify

FW: Troopergate blog update: Palin aides to testify

Seven aides to Gov. Sarah Palin will honor subpoenas to be interviewed as part of the Alaska State Legislature’s “Troopergate” investigation, according to the Anchorage Daily News.

Late last month, Alaska attorney general Tavis Colberg sued to stop the aides from having to speak with the legislature’s special counsel, Stephen Branchflower. Last week a judge ruled against Colberg.

Palin’s husband Todd still has not submitted to an interview with Branchflower, for which he was also subpoenaed. The “First Dude’s” lawyer told the Daily News he was in contact with the investigator, but that an upcoming action by the state Supreme Court could impact Todd’s decision.

The attorney, Thomas Van Flein, said Todd will cooperate with a parallel Troopergate investigation conducted by the state Personnel Board, the paper reported.

Palin and the McCain-Palin campaign have argued since September that the Legislature’s investigation was unconstitutional and politically slanted, and that the Personnel Board was the only legitimate forum to investigate claims she misused her power to pursue a personal vendetta against a state trooper who had been involved in a messy divorce from Palin’s sister.

Why does he NOT have to testify in person like every other American would have to? Why can he answer the questions in writing??? Todd is not the one who is going to answer the questions .. it will be McCain's team of lawyers answering the questions.

Few seem to be aware of the fact that the police commissioner fired by Sarah Palin was actually denied a request to serve in Vietnam, all because his father had died in the Korean War during an incident that had earned him the congressional Medal of Honor.

Now in light of this, it seems to me that the police commissioner was only adhering to an honorable tradition in not wanting to fire the trooper, and certainly deserved the same from Sarah - especially since her party makes such a strong expression of honor for military service.

The duplicity of Palin and McCain is shocking, and yet familiar. McCain purports himself to be such an honorable fellow, and yet he is running the sleeziest, lie-filled campaign I can remember. Sarah Palin, his sarcastic, lying attack dog, lowers the whole campaign to two crooks trying to steal yet another election. I am so worried about voting malfeasance by the Republicans, since their tampering with the voting machines in 2004. (See Robert F. Kennedy's article in Rolling Stone Magazine.))The last thing we need are these two sleazy politicians delegating to us, ignoring the rule of law and whatever protections for the American people may be left after Mr. Bush. Please become active! We need to make sure these two do not get "elected."

whether or not gov. palin is guilty should come out in an investigation but anyone looking at this from the outside has to conclude that the 'outsider' personality she is trying to portray has been perverted by the republican/mccain machine... she looks like the corrupt politicians washington usually takes years to develop but under gop influence, she seems to be a quick study.

I want to want to wait until the truth comes out on the Troopergate, we have to give her the benefit of doubt, but I don't like the trend here, based on what I heard from her speech and the debates, that shows that she is a very stubborn, and narrow minded woman, who would not work with other people who have different opinion other than hers, that horrifies me, I can not imaging that what kind of person she will become when she gets into the White House, we need someone who has an open mind to work with both parties, no one can do everything by him/her self, we don't want that any way, we want Democracy, right?

Trick or treat?

Some of Palins skeletons will come out of the closet with the troopergate investigation but what else is lurking in there yet to be disclosed???

Why didn't Sarah Palin have to be sworn in, in person, and answer any &all questions regarding this investigation? Anybody else would! Palin was Govenor less than a year before this was already unfolding and is already under investigation less than two years into her Governorship in a republican state. Come on, this has corruption written all over it.
