Todd Speaks! (Kind of)

October 07, 2008 9:44 AM

Alaska First Gentleman Todd Palin is willing to respond to questions from the state legislature's Troopergate investigation after all, the McCain-Palin campaign announced yesterday.

But he'll only do so in writing, and the questions must be passed through his lawyer, according to the Anchorage Daily News. That contrasts with his willingness to be interviewed in person by the investigator for the state's Personnel Board, which is also probing the Troopergate allegations.

Both Todd and his GOP vice-presidential candidate wife are expected to talk with the Personnel Board investigation next week, according to the McCain-Palin campaign.

Previously, Todd Palin had refused to comply with a subpoena from the legislature's special counsel for the probe, Stephen Branchflower.  It's not clear whether his offer to respond in writing only would satisfy the subpoena, the paper reported.

Any person involved in any "active" Ethics investigation (of any kind) should NOT be running for public office. PERIOD.

We in Alaska are sooooo tired of having our state government run by McCain Campaign Staff!!!!! This refusal to cooperate with a bipartisan investigation authorized by our state legislature is really making Alaskans angry. We feel like our state is being muzzled by the McCain gang. Juneau is crawling with them. There was a rally in Anchorage today with 1000 attendees who were protesting the lack of transparency by Palin on this issue, and who wanted this obstruction to justice to STOP! This is very irresponsible and illegal behavior which is being recommended by McCain lawyers practicing law in the State of Alaska without the proper credentials to do so in Alaska.

The Palins and their partners need to answer to the people. The need to answer fully, completely, in person according to the subpoena and no deviation. This can rise to obstruction of justice. If the republicans want me to believe they can be accountable, start right here or stop running for national office. Republicans say "Drill-Baby-Drill," I say Speak-Baby-Speak to the people on troopergate.

Barack Obama actively sought and received the stamp of approval of a Marxist third party that operated briefly in Chicago between 1992 and 1998.

The New Party was a Marxist political coalition whose objective was to endorse and elect leftist public officials -- most often Democrats. The New Party's short-term objective was to move the Democratic Party leftward, thereby setting the stage for the eventual rise of new Marxist third party.

If there is no wrong-doing, then why not give testimony. Her not answering and trying to keep this hush-hush is only making her look guilty. She should answer the questions of Alaskans! Regardless of where you stand on the Presidential Elections, she should be willing and able to give her state an answer because if elected, she will have to answer to all of us. If she is not willing to do it now, most likely she will not be willing to do it if she is Vice President.

Also, I am not sure how GoUSA247's comments really have anything to do with this topic as this is not a slam on Republicans or McCain personally, but on her refusal to be present and honest with the people of the state she represents.

Todd and Sarah Palin are also CURRENT members of the Alaska Secessionist Group, which wants Alaska to secede from the USA. The Palin's are dispicable and unpatriotic people. How could McCain choose someone who is so radical and un-American? Also, she is against women's rights and equal pay for women.

This is going to be the most damning thing to McCain/Palin in the election. Not the "Troopergate" charges but the attempt to cover it all up. You don't need to look any further than that to realize the McCain/Palin is exactly like Bush/Cheney. More of the same...more of the same.

Huh? First, she does email interviews... I guess the answers were hers? Now, he "testified" in writing? What's with these people? This just gets weirder as it goes on.

The Republicans call you socialists. communists, unpatriotic and anti American if you have a different belief than theirs.

How often have you heard a Democrat, Green Party, Independant slander a Republican?

Gee...looking at these posts I can't imagine why anyone would not want to testify!
