After watching the debate last night, I am convinced: Palin should be running for high school student body president.

Glad the countdown to report clock is still valid. Too bad the judge wasn't empowered to rule that the Palinistas can't ignore subpoenas.

I find it entertaining as regardless of how Palin and her new best friend, John McOld try to spin this investigation, the facts can't be ignored.

Palin herself promised to cooperate fully, claiming she was an open-book. Yet, once she was tapped to be VP, she did a typical GOP flip-flop and decided it was political and therefore not worth the paper those subpeonas were written on.

But add in the facts.. She talked to Monegan to fire the recalicrant bro-in-law, her best dude, Todd, instructed Monegan to fire him, yet, Todd isn't a government employee, so why was he doing it? Others in her office did the same, basicially, it was a full court press to fire Monegan because he refused an unlawful order to fire a State Trooper who'd only pissed off Palin and her sister.

Seems to me, she'll soon be out of politics completely, and in my view, the world will be a suddenly better place.

How dare Sarah Palin run for high political office. She didn't go to Harvard or Yale, she isn't from the Politial Class, she's also a Concervative. We'll show her who's she's dealing with and what she's up against.

It's important to remember that the state police commissioner is an at will employee, and not under contract, however, people fail to see that she is not under investigation for the actual firing, but rather what they did surrounding his termination. such things as undue influence, harrassment, and illegally obtaining Wootens personnel file, where they discovered his workers compensation claim (which they tried to prove fraud on, unsuccesfully). These are a few of the crimes committed, however the list is growing. It should now include contempt, hindering prosecution / investigation, and yes perjury!

Palin said "the last straw" that led her to fire Monagan was his "unauthorized lobbying trip" to Washington to try to get some funding for a rape prevention program. The trip WAS authorized - by her office. And what is wring with going to Washington to try to get funding for a worthwhile pgm? State government officials from all over the country are on Capitol Hill every day doing exactly that.

I think dems in general have been pretty laid back about rep misbehavior (see the bush admin last 8 years or so) while reps have been very quick to seize on anything (barack's tire story, hill's sarajevo fib, bill's bj) as either damnable or impeachable. Here are examples of five things that Barack Obama has said he'll do which differ drastically from this administration's policies (there are many more, just do a little research):

1. Withdraw from Iraq within 16 months.
2. Increase funding for alternative energy.
3. Close corporate tax loopholes.
4. Institute tax cuts for the middle class.
5. Refocus our military on Afghanistan.

Saying that you disagree with these policies is one thing, but suggesting that they don't represent significant change from the current administration is simply absurd.

Used to, but has not since they started spending way more money that Democrat administrations (as if anyone could image that was possible) AND they opted to simply not pay for any of it. "Let the kids and grandkids pay for it, if they can" is apparently the new Republicanism.

What Republicanism is now is religious nationalism, not conservatism. And it is as ugly as religious nationalism is anyplace in the world it is practiced (see Iran if you want an example).

I would embrace some actual, old-style, fiscal and social conservatism, which involves financial responsibility and keeping your nose out of everyone else's business.

Palin campaigns on how she's cut taxes in Alaska but what she never says is that Alaska, unlike most of the lower 48, has a budget surplus from oil revenue. She's never had to deal with a real-world budget. A smart 16-year-old could cut taxes in Alaska. Now that she has proven she can speak English in complete sentences maybe the campaign staff will make her available for some more real interviews, and not just for events like the sound-bite, talking-point debate of last night.

Well for one thing those in charge of the investigation were put there by the approval of a republican dominated senate. At that time they said they could do the job and do it fairly... hell people questioned the Biden/Palin debate moderator, but she showed she could be fair to the republican ticket... professionals can look past personal bias to do their job right... that's more or less what the judge is saying and he's the closest thing you can get to an unbias view on the situation (though i'm sure the McCain camp is working hard to connect the judge to the democrats somehow)... frankly, there doesn't seem to be enough of a bias in the investigation to say that they will not do the professional thing and give Palin a fair investigation

Would Obama be doing the same thing in Palin's place... maybe, you can never tell... but the judge's ruling would still be the same and investigation would still be going forward

Firing an employee for personal reasons is highly unethical and is a serious abuse of power. Its essentially just as bad as firing someone over race, gender or religion. ABUSE of federal power is a sign of CORRUPTION; y'know that thing she says she got rid of. People like to say she got rid of corruption, but if these stories are true then it means she only got rid of it to make way for her own corruption; like she only cleaned up the government because their corruption was getting in the way of her own. A Government filled with mindless "yes-men" (such as hiring unqualified high school friends and firing anyone who might voice even a hint of objection) is a lot easier to control than one filled with corrupt politicians all desiring their own power.

Sarah Palin is not responsible for the building of a 40 billion dollar gas pipeline in the state of Alaska. If you do your research, you will find that she has given 500 million dollars of our states money to a foriegn company, TransCanada, for them to do the preliminary permitting necessary to go forward with the project. TransCanada is not under any obligation to ever actually build the pipeline! So Sarah Palin's comment that she is responsible for building a 40 billion dollar natural gas pipeline is UNTRUE! Three days after the Legislature awarded the contract to TransCanada; their CEO Hal Kvisle was in the press saying that without the participation and support of the major oil companies, TransCanada couldn't finance the pipeline.

Palin is stupid, shallow, and corrupt. I'm glad the polls are showing a landslide for Obama. I hope Palin meets her doom in November, and with her ugly side exposed, not get reelected for governor in Alaska either. I hope her political career gets ruined for her corrupt behavior.

You know I used to be a big Palin fan, but I recently saw this blog that really opened my eyes. Now I’m not one to easily be swayed but Carol, the lady who wrote this blog, had hundreds of sources and links to said sources .I could not believe that McCain choose her to be his VP choice after reading such a thing and I feel that others should be made aware of who Sarah Palin is exactly.
