Life will be better than you once thought.

We are paying a price for pushing to the back of our minds the homeless and the underserved in our society. For years we cut programs that should have been in place to keep families together, to train people for jobs, to train families on how to parent and stay together. Now we can't depend solely on faith based operations there are Hugh problems with unemployed people and families on the street for the first time with no safety net. We are starting over from nothing to try and safe the under served in this country. It is a shame we did not spend some of our past wealth on making sure the least of us are taken care of.Today they say one in 50 kids is on the street with no means of support this is when I wish I could go back in time and maybe vote differently. Some of these kids will die some will go into prison and some may be someone I know.

America has the resources, talents, and wherewithal that no child should be homeless.

Instead we have had an environment in this country that fostered avarice and selfishness and profits before people.

For shame, America!

My husband and I get by on small social security and military pensions, and yet we find a little each month for the less fortunate.

My question to those not living in poverty or barely making ends meet -- to those who make more than a quarter of a million dollars a year:

Are YOU willing to sacrifice a little so that NO CHILD goes hungry, homeless, without medical care?

My question to every CEO, board member, etc.: Do you care more for your perks, your bonuses or for the homeless child?

If you really care about that child, you would give up your bonuses, perks, etc. and your company would not outsource jobs overseas, not price products beyond the reach of too many Americans, not put profits before people.

I think of Exxon, etc. with their record profits, of Merrill Lynch paying bonuses before its fiasco, etc. and am left to think that people are selling their souls......

Weirdly, not a lot of news people are asking that question. In fact, everyone else is asking the news people, as if they might know -- or as if they might get around to asking about it if they finally figured out it was important to everyone else.
