Ill. Supreme Court Rejects Blago Motion

December 17, 2008 3:06 PM

ABC News’ Rick Klein Reports: Without comment or explanation, the Illinois Supreme Court on Wednesday rejected a request by Attorney General Lisa Madigan to relieve Gov. Rod Blagojevich of his duties.

The ruling keeps the onus on the state legislature -- which has just begun what could be long impeachment proceedings -- to seek Blagojevich’s removal.

In short, the easy way out for state Democrats has just been slammed shut.

Put this in the only in Illinois category:
The Attorney General files a lawsuit, a long shot, to have the gov. declared unfit to serve, while her Dad, the Speaker of the House, leads the charge to impeach the gov. Blago is certainly on the ropes but there's something a little odd about the two Madigans teaming up to lead the charge against him.

Not too good news for Barry. It is going to take a deal to get Hot Rod out. January can't come soon enough for BH0

This is good.

This is a political process for the Illinois Legislature.

Fitzgerald is already handling the legal aspects and the Illinois Supreme Court should not interfere.

They let the mouse not to enter inside the trap as Pat Buchanan put it. It is outside and enjoying the freedom. Not easy to catch it again as it is aware.

The accusations in the criminal complaint recently released are only the tip of the iceberg. Gov. Bagoshit has been under investigation for over three years. Fitz has plenty on him. Bagoshit is dead meat.
