Rev. Wright Follows Obama to D.C.
January 12, 2009 9:27 PM
ABC News' Tahman Bradley reports: This Sunday, while Barack Obama polishes off his inauguration address and enjoys a concert at the Lincoln Memorial, his controversial former pastor Rev. Jeremiah Wright will speak at Howard University's chapel service.
Wright usually appears once a year at the Washington, D.C., school's chapel as part of a rotation of distinguished speakers and members of the clergy. Wright's fiery style and thought-provoking messages typically draw a capacity crowd when he appears at the historically black university each year.
Wright's appearance in Washington, which comes just two days before Obama is to be sworn in as the nation's 44th president, will likely draw enormous attention. During Wright's appearance at the National Press Club last April, the world clearly saw that the pastor doesn't really hold his tongue. Wright, his image tarnished by incendiary comments he'd made while pastor of Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago -- comments that got injected into the 2008 presidential race -- criticized then-Sen. Obama's rebuke of his earlier controversial statements. In response, Obama denounced Wright, and he and his family resigned their membership of Trinity church.
Howard University's official inauguration activities will include a symposium next Monday hosted by Spike Lee and a viewing campaign brunch on Inauguration Day.
It's not clear whether Wright has been invited or plans to attend any of Howard's official inauguration events.

Judging from pictures, Reverend Wright looks to be more white than Obama, who is half white. I'd say he's at least 75% white. Of course, this means that Wright is just another white racist.

I voted for Obama. Reverend Wright is a marine and probably loves this country more than many of you in his own way. Obama doesn't believe in any of the incendiary stuff that Rev. Wright said. But I do think Obama used Rev. Wright's church to establish himself as a politician. Every politician needs a base. Obama was from Hawaii so he needed a base in the mainland. He found that by joining Trinity, marrying Michele and rooting himself in the black community of Southside Chicago. So Obama definitely used Rev. Wright and his church. But that is ok. I am glad he did.

HA!
I saw that speech he did in front of the press club. It was a big sham. We have all been had. What better way to clear Obama out of the mess he was in after first defending Wright then to get the Rev. to "flake" himself out in front of the world and give the Chosen One an "out".
Totally brilliant. But a sham, nonetheless......

Johhny B. Good: "So Obama definitely used Rev. Wright and his church. But that is ok. I am glad he did. "
The problem with liars is that you don't know when they are saying the truth or when they are lying. How do you know he used Wright and not YOU and that his true ideas are more aligned with Wright's?

Obama admits he is a liar!!! He said he cannot keep all his promises. He is lying. The truth is that he made promises he knew were lies!
I rather have an honest person make mistakes than a smooth double talker liar.

I don't see why Wright can't speak at the Inauguration. I mean, he was good enough for O-bama for so long...Hey, Michelle, are you proud of America yet and how much does YOUR dress cost?

Obama has already had his best days-it downhill from here on.

Where are all these fools who were all over this place in election time shrieking GREATEST PRESIDENT EVER! They are nowhere to be found, are they? We have seen enough already and the man hasn't been in office
Wright, Ayers, Rezko, RICHARDSON, BLAGO
The list is just getting started. Ever wonder how a guy from Hawaii chooses to start out in politics in Chicago?
Obama The Fraud will be exposed soon.

Prediction on Obama's election victory via ACORN and elitist media support:
If the economy goes to hell in a hand basket (as it will with Obama's 1 trillion dollar deficits for his cronies), American youth when they grow up will swing the pendelum in the opposite direction with a vengeance. They will realize they have been had by these liberals stuff shirts and a mindless smooth talker.
It won't be pretty.

Just thought I'd come in here and see how the whiners are dealing with the realization of how irrelevant they are. True to form, you're all still under the same delusions. The truth is, Obama never was the man you crazies tried to depict, and most of the country is bored with your delusion, but hey, don't let that stop you. Let's have a few more rounds of "Obama is a radical black nationalist" and "communism is here....let's clean our guns" and "just wait...he's going to turn into a Muslim any second now". I wish we could build a fence around blogs like this to keep you losers from mixing with the normal population.

usa, teo, nadradt: Still making dire predictions? What is it with you right-wing haters? Your election predictions weren't so accurate, were they? Gawd, I've enjoyed watching these blogs for the last couple of months. You all were SOOOOO sure that "it'll all come out and then Obama will be finished" etc. etc. yada yada.... Where IS IT?!?! I remember that whack job Corsi coming back from Africa and telling everyone on hate-radio that he had the goods on Obama, had proof that Obama was trying to help turn Ethiopia into a Sharia-Muslim nation. It was going up on his website the next day. WHERE IS IT? The answer: NOWHERE! Your silly predictions have all come up snake-eyes. But, like all good righties, you have no memory of past failures, but continue to smugly predict your enemy's imminent downfall "really soon." Pathetic. You have that in common with the Muslim extremists in the Middle East, who are always talking in dramatic terms about how much of a blow they're dealing their opponents, when everyone knows it's just hot air. I think you guys should be voted honorary Middle Easters...
Does it occur to you that when your predictions are completely wrong time after time, maybe you should do something different? Like get an education? Study history? Just wondering....

Speaking of history, where is the change in all the appointments of the old Clinton hacks?
Posted by: usa | Jan 13, 2009 1:14:59 AM
"Rev. Wright Follows Obama to D.C."
What a sensational title for this article.
I am sure Wright had the Howard University date in his book before Obama won the election.
Posted by: clarity | Jan 13, 2009 1:15:55 AM
He probably did. How do you sit in a guys church for twenty years if you don't agree with him so much?
Posted by: usa | Jan 13, 2009 1:19:59 AM
usa: Clinton's people were competent and did good work. I reserve the term "hacks" for people like Cheney, Rumsfeld, and Ashcroft, who had a corrupt agenda that had nothing to do with serving the country. I'm fine with many of the former Clinton people. The point is this: "change" means "change back to sanity from the insanity of the past eight years." Clinton derailed himself with the Lewinsky affair. Were it not for that, his presidency would be looked on by historians as a great success.
