White House Press Secretary Gets A Radio
March 05, 2009 1:39 PM
ABC News' Ann Compton reports:
The new White House press secretary was surprised that his casual banter Wednesday at his briefing brought such an immediate windfall.
Robert Gibbs confessed he gets riled up at talking heads on cable TV, lamenting, "Look, are there days in which I just turn my television off? Yes. I wish I had a radio."
He’s got one now. ABC News Radio Vice President Steve Jones in New York dispatched a sleek desktop model, emblazoned with the ABC logo and tuned to ABC News on its pre-set station.
Robert eagerly donned an ABCNEWS RADIO baseball cap and accepted one for his young son Ethan.
What impressed Gibbs the most was Jones’ note reminding the White House that 235 million people listen to radio every week.
(Take that, Twitter !)

And Gibbs should be impressed to know that 20 million listen to Rush daily.
Ignorant whitehouse staff. Just like pebo.

The Obama Daily Tracking Poll is now down 247 points.
Good job Obama.

Listen to Rush? Don't know if he would do that. Maybe if he listened to Dr. Levin it would do the trick

I have a radio and I haven't turned it on ever. I listen to 1010 or 880 in the car sometimes to see what traffic is, but generally there isn't anything the radio offers that the internet and other source don't. I can't say the reverse.
Oh and I'll bet those 200 million radio listeners aren't listening to the news or rush. They are listening to packaged format radio music or sports.

Many years ago I listened to Rush regularly, then he went off the deep end and became more and more abrasive. I quit. Out of the 235 million who listen to the radio if only 20 million listen to Rush that makes 8%. What do you suppose the other 92% are listening to.

Why can't we gete ABCNews Radio in Sacramento. The most powerful radio station here is KFBK 1530 and they switched to FOX news last year. It sucks. ABC news radio is not heard throughout the central valley in California, though they have it in San Francisco, that does not help here. We have to put up with Rush all morning eveym morning. It's enough to make you vomit regularly. We need you here!
