GOP Sen. Cornyn: ‘The Two Sonia Sotomayors’; Judge is ‘Steady but Confusing’


ABC News’ Rick Klein reports: With Judge Sonia Sotomayor’s testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee wrapping up today, Republican senators are settling on a final strategy on approaching a nominee who seems certain to be approved -- while trying to set the terms for the next debate. On ABCNews.com’s “Top Line” today, a member of the committee, Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, expressed frustration with what he sees as a disconnect between speeches Sotomayor has given, and her performance this week under questioning by senators.

They're Baaack -- New 'Harry and Louise' Ad Is for Health Care Reform


The new $4 million ad airing this weekend on the Sunday talk shows comes from the original producer of the first series, and is sponsored by two large insurance companies, Families USA and PhRMA. The ad will run for several weeks on cable and broadcast networks.

CBO Sees No Net Federal Cost Savings in Dem Health Plans


One of the main arguments made by the President and others for investing in health reform now is that it will save the federal government money in the long run by containing costs. Turns out that may not be the case, according to Doug Elmendorf, director of the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office.
