Palin Attacks Obama Energy Plan

July 14, 2009 8:27 AM

Klein ABC News’ Rick Klein reports: That didn’t take long.

Less than two weeks after announcing that she was resigning her post, Gov. Sarah Palin, R-Alaska, is signaling that she still intends to be a major player in the national debate.

Palin wrote an op-ed in today’s Washington Post attacking President Obama’s plan for a “cap and trade” system on carbon emissions as an “enormous threat to our economy.”

“It would undermine our recovery over the short term and would inflict permanent damage,” Palin writes.

“Yes, we can. Just not with Barack Obama's energy cap-and-tax plan,” she concludes.

The op-ed, published even before Palin leaves office formally July 26, appears to answer questions some political observers have raised about how actively she intends to remain in national politics.

She takes a shot at the press corps in explaining how she envisions her role:

“Unfortunately, many in the national media would rather focus on the personality-driven political gossip of the day than on the gravity of these challenges,” Palin writes. “So, at risk of disappointing the chattering class, let me make clear what is foremost on my mind and where my focus will be.”

Wow, will she ever go away. Yeah, that's what we need to do, take her advice on the environment and economy. This sore loser should take a page from her running mate's book, there is only one President at a time and her bid was defeated.

Who cares what a quitter like Palin has to say, really. She needs to go home help her daughter raise her child and hope baby number two for her daughter is not on the way. Talk about people in glass houses.

Ah Sarah, America's Dessert - Half-Baked Alaska.....

Posted by: SearamblerOne | Jul 14, 2009 8:52:29 AM

Typical Republican, Palin's thinking is short-term only. What about the long-term economic damage resulting from not creating a cap and trade system? Yeah just ignore that.

Oh, so sad. A loser criticizing a winner. We're still laughing at you Sarah. And if the GOP are using you to "fire" up division and hate, go right ahead.........that's all you can give. You're not intelligent enough for anything else. lol

"enormous threat to our economy". I think Sara Palin is an enormous threat to humankind. I can't believe the let such a ditsy person breed.

The only things she knows about energy are that A)it comes from the ground and B) Alaska gets billions and billions of dollars from the oil and gas companies in order to 'spread the wealth' around. She wouldn't have lasted even 1 term in a state WITHOUT oil revenue - oh wait, she didn't even last 1 term in a state WITH oil revenue......

Being that she quit her job as Governor, she realy is irrelevant as to anything she says or feels or wants the American people to listen too. She quit. She allowed the spotlight and media get to her. She, if elected to any national office would be more scutinized than she could ever imagine. This last 8 month would be a cakewalk as compared to if she decides to try to run for office. She is now only dead weight to an already dying republican party and idealogy. Sorry folks, but Sarah Palin is nothing now except a big mouth with nothing anyone wants to hear except her misguided, misinformed, religious right followers, of which they have become more irrelevant as the year goes on.

Go get them Palin. We need a Republican with some intestinal fortitude to stop the global warming crowd.

Palin is exactly who we need right now to fix BO's mess. Unlike BO, she actually likes and BELIEVES in the constitution. She also believes in limited gov't and low taxation for citizens.
As long as BO, the anti-American socialist, does not completely break the bank by 2012, America could be okay.

Reference:

Sarah Palin:Gave Seed Money [Alaskan Tax Payer Money] to Trans-Canada [500 Million]to be Exact, to make a Gas-Pipeline. The Pipeline Builder does not Provide [Gas] only the Construction of the Pipeline, the Big Three Gas-Oil Companies Own the Gas Land Leases and without them, [No Gas] !!

Oh by the way i forgot to mention, Sarah Palin's Gas Pipeline will Cost between [28-40 Billion Dollars] and Guess who she'd have to Beg to Finance this 10-12 Project ?

You Guessed it, the President of the USA or Big Oil [Exxon]

If either the Government or Exxon walk away from the Trans-Canada Deal and they Finance [Demali's Pipeline, Palin would have Lost 500 Million of [Alaskan Tax Payers Money]

That's why she's Resigning. Exxon & Trans-Canada are trying to make a deal, Minus Hollow,Floating,Bubble [Sarah Palin]

She knows Energy like John McCain Understand Economics, Both are Clue-Less

Note: BP & Conoco-Phillips are moving ahead with their own Pipeline Project, called the [Denali Project].

Sarah Palin did not come up with this Project, the Project has been around for over 3 Decades and Fmr. Governor Frank Murkowski was working on a Deal with Big Oil to make the Pipeline.
-------------------

As governor, she did just that, offering a suite of incentives (including $500 million in seed money) in exchange for certain commitments meant to protect the state’s interests.

State lawmakers approved her Alaska Gasline Inducement Act in 2007, and last year awarded a state license under A.G.I.A. to Canadian Pipeline Builder TransCanada.

Exxon Mobil has since teamed up with TransCanada, and BP and ConocoPhillips are pursuing their own pipeline project separately [Denali].

Palin left her position as Gov because she felt that she could no longer give 100% to the Alaskan people, given all of the liberal idiots who have brough 19 ETHICS COMPLAINTS AGAINST HER. Millions of tax payer dollars and thousands of her staff's time have been lost dealing with these ridiculous lawsuits and she felt it was short-changing the people of Alaska.

Imagine......a politician who actually acts on behalf of the people rather then for their own political career! BO's mindless followers just can't fathom it!
She is 19-0 with the complaints (pretty good record to me).

I wonder what BO's record would be if he had 19 ethics complaints against him as a junior senator in chicago? A few names come to mind for that one- Rezko, Blago, Ayers, Wright.

Welcome back to gripe-and-moan politics. Certainly, Mrs. Palin is not the stereotypical neo-con, and she's gotten --some-- bum raps in the press. And maybe Alaska was better off with her than without her.

But at the national levels of conversation, she's got a horrible track record with the facts (e.g. the VP "runs the Senate," I've got foreign experience because Putin flew over my house, what's the Bush doctrine, etc.) Then she gets mad with the press when they quote such mega-blunders directly. Right now, that leaves her a cosmetically pleasing combination of George Bush and Dan Quayle.

Someday, she'll be more comfortable with the source material and then she'll really be unstopable. But until then, I'm begging you folks: PLEASE stop martyring a moron.

Didn't take her long to start spouting off at the mouth. I think this is why she really resigned. She just could not stand the restrictions of her office to not say what ever she thinks-No matter how stupid she sounds.

"Fix BO's mess"? Sure this all happened in the last 7 months! The last 8 years, were filled with peace, prosperity and respect for the people of America! "limited gov't and low taxation for citizens." Don't let the pesky fact that Govt grew or that low taxes were only the right of Corporations and the top 2% in this country! "the anti-American socialist" Who exactly sold us to China and started the bailouts?

Posted by: Try the truth | Jul 14, 2009 9:27:58 AM

Yooo Hooo MS.Palin: The election is over. Pres. Obama won. Get over it and get out of here. I'm sooooo tired of hearing about your and your dysfunctional family. You couldn't take the heat and quit as governor. All you are interested in is the money. Now you are writing a book? Please stop with stories on this silly woman. There are far more important things to discuss.

Sarah Palin's intestinal fortitude is the result of too much moose chili. It's rumored that 90 percent of greenhouse gas emissions are the result of Sarah Palin's intestinal fortutude problem.
