Ralph Nader's Novel: ‘Only the Super-Rich Can Save Us!'
September 21, 2009 10:54 AM
ABC News’ Rick Klein reports:
The book imagines a 2005 meeting of some of the world's richest and most influential people -- think Warren Buffett, Ted Turner, Bill Cosby and some super-well-heeled friends -- who found their own political party.
Their movement slays the corporate beast Nader has spent the last few decades trying to beat.
"Only the Super-Rich Can Save Us!" is fantasy -- but with Nader's distinct persona and politics.
"Never in America have there been more super-rich people with relatively enlightened views," Nader tells the AP's Hillel Italie.
Nader will be our guest on ABCNews.com's "Top Line" today, live at noon ET at ABCNews.com, and available on the ABCNews.com site, iTunes, and YouTube any time thereafter. Offer up questions for Nader via Twitter @thenote.

The top 5% of wage earnings in this country pay about 60% of all personal taxes collected. The bottom 50% are shouldering about 3% of the total burden. Aren't the "rich" saving this country already?

I'd love to see where you get your statistics. Even if true, tax burdens don't tell nearly the entire story.
