Protesters Arrested at Lieberman's Office
November 05, 2009 10:31 AM
It is protest day, for the Left and the Right, on Capitol Hill.
First out of the gate - 9 Protesters backing a universal health care system briefly occupied Sen. Joe Lieberman's office this morning.
Protesters were arrested, one by one, and dragged out of his office amid chants of "Everyone in and noone out, universal healthcare now!" and "Represent Connecticut, not AETNA!"
The whole affair, from occupation to final arrest, lasted 40 minutes.
Lieberman, the Connecticut Independent, has said he will join Republicans to filibuster a Democractic health bill if it contains a public health insurance option to operate alongside the private insurance market.
Later we will see much a larger protest from the other side of the political spectrum as potentially thousands of protesters gather with Republican lawmakers on the West side of the Capitol. Those protesters will lobby against Democrats' health care bills in large part because they include a public option..

Sounds like what happens when you take a position "that goes against" the Majority Will of the People you're SUPPOSED TO BE REPRESENTING!?!? (Especially when your Wife earns a "Healthy Income" from a Health Care Lobbying firm.......)

I thinking.. if they were protesting universal health coverage they would be branded "terrorists" and plastered all over the network news programs tonight..

Typical liberal loons, to call them Democrats would be insulting to someone like Zell Miller.

Yea how unamerican to protest. I'm sure this was astroturf, all organized by democrat interests. These folks are thugs, terrorists, nazis, fascists...they are not real americans....RIGHT?

where do people get the ideal that it is the government's job to provide them health care coverage.
Get a job, get a life, get your own health care coverage.
The GOP plan to make health care more accessible and cheaper is as far as any government should go.

Sounds like breaking the law. Sounds like the difference between leftist protest and conservative protest.

Imagine if the Tea Party folks took over a Senate office! I'm sure these liberals will be hailed as heroes, if they are mentioned by the MSM at all.

This is the same behavior that got the banks in trouble... remember ACORN protesting at the homes and offices of bank CEOs?
Now comes some nut cases who are trying to do the same thing to Lieberman.

The MSM will brand the thousands against it as terrorists, right-wing fring and hate mongers. The 8 arrested that are for it, will be branded patriots.

See the anger that the Blue Dog LieberDems have created! They brought it on themselves. Senator Bayh better watch out. He is next on the list.

1.7 million conservatives protesting in the mall Septmeber 12 2009, not 1 arrest. 8 lefty lunatics and 8 arrests. Enough said.

Bob, are there fewer than 12 people living in Connecticut? Just trying to figure out how you're positive that 6 people represent the will of the majority.

All incumbents need to go. This country needs citizen legislators who live by their own laws, not an elite class of career parasites.

"Everyone in, no one out." These people are despicable.
America is supposed to be the land of the FREE. What about those who don't want to be trapped in their nightmare of a government-run health care system?

bobj72, A majjority of Americans don't agree with the health bill as written!
Posted by: Dave | Nov 5, 2009 10:53:54 AM
You have it right, Bobj72. The Liberal double standard proves itself alive and well every hour of every day.

Lieberman is from the home of Big Insurance and is representing the interests of his state by blocking health care option.
"Get a job, get a life, get your own health care coverage." Sure I will go do that -I hadn't thought of that. Oh, I forgot- conservatives are blind to sarcasm.
