ABC News' Huma Khan reports: Sarah Palin's tweet supporting West Virginia Senate candidate John Raese is catching fire on the blogosphere after Palin, who officially endorsed Raese on Facebook just days ago, got the candidate's state wrong.
"Pennsylvania:makes sense 2 send GOP 2 DC 2 avoid PA economic disaster that will occur under Obama/Pelosi Cap & Tax scheme; workers need Raese," Palin wrote earlier today.
The only problem, Raese is not from Pennsylvania. The tweet was quickly taken down followed by a new post: "PA & WV: makes sense 2 send GOP 2 DC 2 avoid economic disaster that will occur under Obama/Pelosi Cap & Tax scheme; workers need Raese."
This isn’t Palin’s first twitter gaffe. In July, the former Alaska governor took to Twitter to oppose the construction of an Islamic center near Ground Zero and coined a new term in the process: "Ground Zero Mosque supporters: doesn't it stab you in the heart, as it does ours throughout the heartland? Peaceful Muslims, pls refudiate.”
Palin took down the tweet within hours and posted a new one, omitting the word “refudiate.”
Raese is in a close race with West Virginia Gov. Joe Manchin. The Democratic candidate himself says he opposes President Obama's energy plan, arguing in a debate Monday night that the president is "dead wrong on cap and trade."
Palin is traveling from coast to coast to rally support for her favorite candidates, but the former governor hasn't actually appeared with any candidate in more than a month, leading some to wonder if candidates are purposely distancing themselves from her. Read more HERE.
