Poring over data on the government’s recovery.gov website unveils not only phantom congressional districts and questionablejob totals. It also shows states with low unemployment and stable stage governments are getting lots of stimulus money per resident.

'Clunkers' Program Hits a Speed Bump
The effort to inject another two billion dollars into Cash for Clunkers has hit a potential road block in the Senate that could kill the bill.
Republiicans are throwing their support behind an amendment offered by Tom Harkin, D-Iowa, that would limit clunker rebates to individuals with annual incomes of 50 K or less. With Republican support the amendment stands a good chance of passing unless the majority of Democrats, who mostly favor the amendment, vote against it.

Republicans Stepping up Anti-Stimulus Rhetoric
The Congress people all suffer from high unemployment in their states and pointed to a GAO report released this week that shows many of the areas with the highest unemployment are receiving proportionally less stimulus money. In large part, this is due to the formula by which the funds have been dispersed.
