Becoming a Skating Fan (Sort Of)

ABC News correspondent John Berman ends-up covering a bunch of sports stories mostly because, he says, he is a sports fan. He's in Turin, Italy to cover the 2006 Winter Olympics and writes about becoming a skating fan... Sort of: I like baseball. I also like football and basketball and hockey, and most other sports that have been invented, ever. But I have never been much of a figure skating fan ... until now ... sort of. Through the annoying diligence of several ABC News producers, I started paying attention to skating over the last few months, and man, is it crazy; not good crazy or bad crazy, just crazy. There are scandals on top of scandals. They practically go to court over salad dressing. So for that reason alone it is interesting. I was with some figure skating print reporters last night who were recounting some of their stories over the last 15 years, and I swear, it was like the Maury Povich show. [READ MORE]
