Accepting as true an administration statement justifying an administration action that may be illegal demonstrates once again the miserable state of so-called "mainstream" media. What is the law on matters like this? Are there no attorneys available to explain this? Why haven't you really pressed the President about this? Are you afraid of losing "access"? Given the poor job you are doing any loss of access will have damned little impact on the public's right to know.
You guys are not doing your job. Shame on you.
