Cheney's Dog Darth Vader for Halloween

October 31, 2007 12:53 PM

ABC News' Jennifer Duck Reports: The Vice President's dogs may beat the President's dogs in the best dressed category this Halloween.

Late night TV shows have ridiculed and compared Vice President Dick Cheney to Darth Vader.

So in a wicked response, Cheney dressed one of his dogs, Jackson, as the famous Star Wars character.  Cheney's other Labrador retriever, Dave, is dressed up as superman.

The canine costume may also be a jab at Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y.

In September after the Democratic-led Congress failed to persuade congressional Republicans to force the President to change course in Iraq through legislative means, Clinton told supporters at a New York fundraiser, "You can always tell when the Republicans are restless -- because the Vice President's motorcade pulls into the Capitol. Darth Vader emerges. And honestly I'm not invited to their meetings I don't know what he says or does."

President Bush's pets also disguised themselves for Halloween.

Quite catty and looking a little spooked, India the cat wasn't too thrilled posing in her wizardous get-up.  However, Barney and Miss Beazley, the President and Mrs. Bush's two Scottish Terriers, were happy to sit pretty as a cowboy and a strawberry.

White House employees brought their children trick-or-treating in the Old Executive Office Building, and the White House is allowing parents to go home a little early to spend the boo-tiful night trick-or-treating with their kids.

Earlier in the day, White House press secretary Dana Perino attempted to "spook" an otherwise unfazed White House press corps by posting her daily briefing slide in orange lettering.

Cheney and connections to the dark side of the force is not a stretch.

And Cheney himself dressed as, what, the Emperor?

No, it's supposed to be Darth Cheney and Emperor Jackson, not the other way around...leave it to ABC

I'm a registered Democrat, but I'll admit that Cheney's response has class to it. He has True American breeds also. Then again he's a hunter. Nice to see Big Dogs with blue collar values.

Dick Cheney is too evil to be Darth Vader, maybe the Evil Emperor. Bush could be Hitler, minus the brains.

I am really concerned when there so many more pressing issues in the world and news media are covering topics such as what pets are being dressed up as...I am guessing that many of the families whose siblings and parents are fighting in a war and whose lives wills be altered forever are not finding the same humor. I believe the media as a whole has a responsibility to provide more substantial information than this!!

I'm dressed up as Darth Vader wearing a Cheney mask.

What character was the White House koala bear dressed up as for this years Halloween Trick-or-Treating party in 2007?

Posted by: freebeaker | Oct 31, 2007 7:07:18 PM

Monica Lewinsky! She surly was twofold when it's going out to Trick-or-Treating at her age. Were you considered scary or sexy by your en famille?

Cheney has such a great sense of humor and class. His response to a constant barrage of negative media, is measured and appropriate. The pictures are adorable and those labradors are beautiful. At least we know that he doesn't have animals as props like owning a cat for image and then give it away to a worker) or a dog to make him likeable like someone else we know. Those dogs will not be running into the street unsupervised. Lighten up on the snarky remarks -- it is Halloween!

Bush & Cheney are barely humans with absolutely no common sense nor decency. I look forward to the day when these two morons and their cohorts are on trial for their crimes against humanity.

You know, it's quite disturbing to think that some of you Blue Dress Democrats really have a say in this political process.

We know Bush was giving out Frito-Lays for Halloween, and Cheney, Western Honeydews, however, what we don't know is that, was it true that Ben Berneke lowered interest rates and who was once a rat's Trick-or-Treaters got a rock!

You Bush/Cheney haters aren't qualified to lick the boots of either W or Cheney. I'd love to see Cheney as President.

With apologies to Voltaire: I disapprove of the blue dress you Democrats wear, but I will defend to the death your right to wear it.

Even the innocent animals cannot escape the insanity brought upon all of us by the destroying duo, GWB & DC. Since actions speak louder than words, then Cheney needs to say nothing as to his true personality and inner-most thoughts. Anyway,Darth Vader was much too much of a nice guy to be compared to Cheney. He had reasons for his evil, Cheney and Bush are just naturally evil. That makes both of them more dangerous than any fictional Darth Vader. Neither one of them are a laughing matter. They are both very sick men.

Someone tell me why this is a headline.

Another reason Cheney couldn't be Darth Vader,is because Darth was a evil warrior. "Dick" Cheney is a yellow coward, five deferment Chickenhawk. I served, and this coward swearved. He won't be satisfied to this warmongering psychopath starts WW III. His supporters are the worst Americans ever!
