Hillary's Dream Date: A Republican?

April 30, 2008 12:58 PM

ABC News' Rick Klein Reports: Conspiracy theorists delight: Asked who she'd go out with on a date -- with any celebrity, living or dead -- and Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton chose . . . a Republican.

Her fantasy date would be with President Abraham Lincoln, Clinton said in an interview being published in the People magazine hitting newsstands Friday.

The question: "If your husband gave you a pass for one night and you could go on a date with any celeb, alive or dead, who would it be?"

Clinton's answer: "That's such a dangerous question! How about Abraham Lincoln?"

Another surprising tidbit: Despite the 19-hour days she puts in on the trail, she's apparently never heard of the energy drink Red Bull. Asked if she's ever had one, she replied, "No. What is it?"

Clinton, D-N.Y., also equivocates on a few either-or questions: She refused to choose between comedians Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, said she likes both wine and beer, and wouldn't select either "American Idol" or "Dancing With the Stars"; she said her mother -- who lives with the Clintons -- keeps her up to speed on both programs.

She did, however, choose Weight Watchers over the South Beach Diet -- but didn't elaborate on her own eating habits.

She also said she's never had cosmetic surgery: "People have to decide what's right for them. It's never been anything I thought was right for me."

Clinton weighs in on the Texas polygamy sect, expressing some sympathy for the women who entered into polygamous marriages.

"Many of these women were raised in the sect, isolated from the outside world from birth," Clinton told People. "It takes an enormous amount of independent thinking to lift yourself out of the circumstance you've been born and raised in to say, 'Wait a minute, this isn't right.' "

She also credits her husband with making the clinching argument in convincing her to run for president.

Said Clinton, "He finally said, 'Well, you have to decide whether you could do what your country needs -- and whether you'd be willing to subject yourself to the process.' Then he said, 'If we end up with another Republican president and you didn't even try . . .' And that kind of clinched it for me."

Hill the Bosnian General was living her whole adult life in a polygamous relationship, she means she did not know that Bill was having affairs everyday. She has to Ken Sarr who has helped her and Bill to stop it officially anyway. Thanks Lord.

What an absolutely ridiculous title for this even more inane article. Asking Clinton whom she would date is nonsensical. The fact that she choose Lincoln has less to do with the fact that he was a republican, than it does with the fact that he was an extraordinary person. Furthermore, the republican's were extremely different in the nineteenth century than they are today. Lincoln, if alive today, would be a moderate democrat.

Abraham Lincoln is considered one of our country's greatest presidents. Leave it to a frightened Obama supporter to read race into that pretty easy answer.

how old is john mccain?

Could we get more fluff please? I mean it isn't like she decried a business deal that her husband was involved in. oh wait.

The more I think about this, the better.

Mc Cain needs to just copy all the good parts of Obama's rhetoric about the war and the economy.

Obama has earmark problems, and certainly credibility problems as a radical leftist.

Mc Cain just has to sever ties to the bush administration, and claim a NEW republican party.

What does Obama have left? They will AGREE on the issues. Obama will have pro choice vs pro life, which is always going to have conservatives vote for Mc Cain, and liberals for Obama.

The only chance Obama has of winning the general election is if Mc Cain insists that winning the war in Iraq FOREVER .

He needs to rebuild his platform on the war and economy, and healthcare. He needs to simply adopt much of what Clinton -then Obama - has already said.

America through this charade....

Mr. Obama aint no president...

"That is if you believe that America should become a third world country subservient to communist China".....posted earlier by an idiot.

That seems to be the aim of the republicans. They've been striving for that goal for at least 7 years now.

Oh, and Lincoln was a republican before the democrats and republicans switched ideologies .

The hypocrisy and lieing Mr. Obama
has shown is almost inconceivable.

Go Hillary!! Don't pay attention to these sleeze bags. They're stupid dogs. You're the best. Keep on fighting and when you win -- send BO back to his sickening church where he belongs. Go Hillary!!!

HRC is now blatantly running on her husband's coattails. She is not the Bill Clinton of the 90's people. There is no third term.

Posted by: Louis | Apr 30, 2008 2:46:17 PM

I'm shocked, Hillary can't make up her mind on so many important choices. If she actually chose one side, then the other side might not like her, and that can't happen in her world. So she takes every side of every issue and looks like your normal two-faced politician. It's pathetic.

Clearly, the Clintons know they have already lost the 2008 nomination and are doing their best to elect John McCain, so Hillary can run again in 2012. Her slogan: "See, I told you Obama was unelectable." Yes, witch, because you trashed him so much.

A wonderful future Hillary wishes on us: President McCain, bread lines, soup kitchens, massive unemployment and poverty, a new war: Iran. Thanks, Bill and Hill. It's all about you, as usual.
