New Quinnipiac PA Poll Numbers

April 15, 2008 7:48 AM

Senior political correspondent and Political Punch author Jake Tapper blogs:

Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., maintains a 50 - 44 percent lead over Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., among likely primary voters, reports a Quinnipiac University poll released just now.

Those numbers are unchanged from April 8 numbers, though the poll was taken over the weekend -- after news broke of Obama's controversial remarks on "bitter" small-town Pennsylvanians clinging to guns, God, and xenophobia.

Twenty-six percent of Clinton supporters say that would vote for Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., should Obama win the nomination, while 19% of Obama supporters say they would go GOP should Clinton win.

Other numbers:
White voters for Clinton 57 - 37 percent;

Women voters for Clinton 54 -40;

Voter over 45 for Clinton 55 - 40;

Black voters for Obama 86 - 8 percent;

Men voters for Obama 51 - 43 percent;

Voters under 45 for Obama 55 - 39.

Sen. Clinton is like a rock in the night, and she is as dependable and reliable as Gibraltar, which is also a rock like Hillary. We need a president who can do much more than make rhetoric sound like reality to those would be voters for Sen. Obama, who do not have a clue as to what constitutes the so-called "old politics" of deception and division.
Voters of American do not be deceived by the feel good speeches that don't tell us anything new or how to overcome the "old politics."
America as a nation and a culture of democracy is itself a political entity that history has shown to require a tough fight for the presidency of this democratic nation. The history of tough campaigns for the White House began with George Washington's first election. Campaigns and presidential elections have not gotten any easier to wage and to win, since Washington had to do it the first time America elected him president. And, also remember that there was no popular vote of the American people when Washington was elected. Also, do not forget that neither woman nor blacks could vote for president back in the days of the "really old politics". Yov've come along way, lady. Go, Hillary for President of the United States of America, now!!!

No matter how good the intention meant one should not be voted into such high office on the strength of colour, such being a act of folly to the extreme... It the time for all americans to come to their senses....and as a team rally round Hillary raising America from the pit it having sunk....the aim of human life, the universe sustaining such, be through heart as brain there then being development in understanding experience of the very essence of creation........ Over a long period the USA its people having taken material to extreme, where the spiritual development as being left greatly wanting.....it time to righten such balance betwixt the two..This will take as need the effort from all...... In mercy, commpassion, the very power of creation holding out a hand, Need It Being Said ....TAKE IT... .. .

This is the United States of America, and we the people decide who our candidate for President should be. Why are they asking Hillary to step down? Let the people in each state have the opportunity to be heard.Then, whoever gets the most votes should be the Nominee.Afterall this is our country, not the superdelegates decision to choose. I am a registered Democrat, but I can tell you, if the superdelegates make the decision, I will vote for McCain out of spite.

There are at least 3 reasons why people vote Obama. One , because he is afro american ( people are thrilled with the idea of a black president - a camelot feeling ) Two, He speaks eloquently, with charm. - people are charmed and amazed by his speeches. Third, He is the latest "trend" he epitomizes to the young a "revolt" to the old school. It was "cool" to go Obama. That is what the young voters vote for , a new innovative idea of change. --- This is why it is sad that we may end up voting a president mostly because of emotions , rather than logic and the wisdom of historical proof--meaning we choose based on the past deeds of the candidates that proves what kind of person we are choosing. plus the logic of the proposed directions they want to take the country to.
