McCain, Leno & the Senator's Houses

August 25, 2008 8:04 PM

H_leno_mccain_070829_main_2 Don't want to stay up for the Tonight Show?

Here's Jay Leno, political reporter, from a just completed interview:

Leno: "For a million dollars, how many houses do you have?"

McCain: "Could I just mention to you, Jay, that, at a moment of seriousness. I spent five-and-a-half years in a prison cell. I didn't have a house. I didn't have a kitchen table. I didn't have a table. I didn't have a chair. And I didn't spent those five-and-a-half years because, not because I wanted to get a house when I got out. You know, I'm very proud of Cindy's father. He was a guy that barely got out of high school, fought in WW Two in the Army Air Corps, came home and made a business, and made the American dream. And so somehow, you've had Cindy on this show, and, uh, the fact is that she's extremely generous. She goes around the world doing humanitarian stuff. She's in now in Georgia as we speak, looking at the humanitarian aspects of the results of this Russian invasion. So, I'm proud of my life and my record, and we spend our time in a condominium in Washington, in a condominium in Phoenix, sometime over here in the state of California and we have a place up in northern Arizona. And, my friends, I'm proud of my record of service to this country. And it has nothing to with houses. What it has to do with putting Americans in houses and keeping in their homes. And that's what I'm gong to do."

Leno: "That sounds like five houses."

When he is confronted about something - he always pulls out his POW card. This card is getting thin from all of it's uses John, so you had better come up with something more substantal for all us to see and hear - or else your turn in the white house will be over before another five months are up!

I like that McCain.

What has Obama ever done for our country...NOTHING

Dem for McCain

How 'bout this for a "moment of seriousness," Senator MCain? While you're trying to divert people from thinking about the number of homes your family owns, TENS OF THOUSANDS of Americans are losing their home. (And, I'm sorry, Senator - you've got enough homes on your own - I'm not helping to give you our White House, too.)

Obama spent 20+ years in Rev Wright's church holding his fingers in his ears so he couldn't hear anything ... doesn't that match being in a POW camp?

Obama will put Gramps to bed and he'll be nice by giving him a warm buttermilk to sip on.

However, Biden will add a little jalapeno pepper for the old man's digestive tract.

POTUS OBAMA - ITS INEVITABLE
(Cynics, you can't stop it)

Is anyone else as creeped out by the fact that McCain has taken the most noble thing in his biography and cheapened it? Akin to the mantra of "9/11" which Bush developed, after having said he didn't want to bring it up for years, McCain is now answering every slightly uncomfortable question with his POW card. I worked with many VietNam POWs and it's making me very sad to see him behave this way.

It is moving -- Even if McCains are rich, this doesn't belittle their contribution to the country and the world. Obamas are poor and mean -- can they give us a straight talk about how much contribution they have made to this country? They took advantage of everything this country offers, complained about everything this country is, and now they took the grandstand to tell the Americans that they know what is good for this country and they can take the country there. I don't believe in anything they are selling -- fake, fake, fake. Obama can not even produce his original birth certificate.

Nat Turner ... which old man are you referring to? ... Biden??? ... looks like even NObama has more respect for age and experience than his supporters do!!

Posted by: Francisco Cardenas | Aug 25, 2008 8:24:12 PM

With competition like McCain, what is competition?

THIS IS GOING TO BE A LANDSLIDE!

OBAMA/BIDEN - VICTORY IS INEVITABLE

(Don't cry cynics)

Frachesca,

Whining is not an effective tool to win elections.

By the way.........Didn't you know that you won't win any thoroughbred horseraces with a donkey as your main entry.

Man, go to bed. McCain will be joining you in November.

POTUS OBAMA - Cynics, what can you do to stop it?

NOTHING........Go get a buttermilk

"Seven." It's only 2 syllables but he can't seem to muster the strength to say it.

Posted by: TSnow27604 | Aug 25, 2008 8:27:02 PM

Nat ... why you calling us cynics? ... I be very positivo that McCain CAN ... and NObama can't!!!!

... and "tiredgirl" ... you are tired.

Francisco Cardenas @ 8:27 - I have worked with military support groups since 1970 - including activities on behalf of POWs while they were still imprisoned, when we were trying so hard to bring them home and work for The Congressional Medal of Honor Society since 1981. I'm TIRED of the beautiful sacrifice and tradition of military service being chopped up and used for "spin."

Posted by: tiredgirlie | Aug 25, 2008 8:34:33 PM

Amy, dear, what is it EXACTLY that Obama has done that's 'mean'? At least he doesn't say the same thing every time there's a difficult question ("I was a POW...I was a POW.... I was a POW...") really... it's nice that you served your country, John, but please - could you just answer the question? It's the Republican mantra "9/11...POW...9/11..." like Republicans are the only ones who care about 9/11. Like they did anything about it except invade a sovereign nation on trumped up charges (and I said this at the time) just to get the nation thinking they were doing something.

Does McCain know he is teetering on the edge or pathetic by bringing up his 40 year old suffering to answer every criticism. It makes him seem obsessional.

Hey Nat Turner: Why does all of the polls show the race as dead even? Some even show McCain ahead. If your boy is so popular why is the race so tight?

Tsk tsk tsk, you can go to bed now.....

Hey Joey, Bush almost won TWICE. There are very, very many stupid voters out there. In general, if the votes count common sense prevails, this new trend of not counting the votes does lead to catastrophe.

Oh, Willie.

Still living in the past, huh?

When will you lemmings learn?

POSITIVE WILL ALWAYS DEFEAT NEGATIVE IN THE LONG RUN.

I'm sure you were a boyscout, werent' you?

Just look at what happened to Clinton. Now, McCain't is doint the same thing.

Posted by: Nat Turner | Aug 25, 2008 9:05:28 PM

I'll take McCain's 20 plus years in the military and 20 plus years working in DC against Obama's 147 days of work in DC anytime. Most office clerks have to have more time on the job than NOBama has.
