Showdown: Obama, Clinton Supporters Trade Barbs
August 25, 2008 1:52 PM
ABC News' Eloise Harper Reports: Before the Democratic National Convention got underway with a prayer and the national anthem, Democratic infighting took center stage in another area of Denver's Pepsi Center.
Supporters of former presidential candidate Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., shouted "We will not fall in line" behind the party's presumptive presidential nominee, Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill.
A small group of about 15 people, located within the crowd of approximately 200 gathered in front of MSNBC's news set, traded barbs over who deserves the nomination.
"Haters, that's what y'all are. Haters! You're not a Democrat! You're not a Democrat!" a man holding up an Obama sign shouted at a Clinton supporter.
"You lost, get over it!" another Obama supporter chimed in.
"Let the delegates vote!" "Rise, Hillary Rise!" "I own my vote!" the Clinton supporters responded.
The Obama backers replied with his campaign mantra "Yes We Can," but the Clinton supporters persisted.
"Caucus fraud, Caucus fraud!" they yelled.
Earlier Monday, Clinton reminded reporters that she won the popular vote during the primary season, but said that despite that outcome, there's "no doubt" that the convention belongs to Obama, and that the main goal is party unity.
A handful of Clinton supporters also dogged MSNBC "Hardball" host Chris Matthews, calling him a "sexist pig" and booing him as he walked onto the network's set.
A group of about ten protestors joined the fray, holding up signs saying, "Clintons 4 McCain."
One woman holding a sign said, "We've been big Hillary Clinton supporters, we've been told to get over it... We want out party back."
The Clinton-turned-McCain supporters said they "can't trust" Obama because "he is very shifty" and that "he doesn't take a stand on anything."
"We will swing the votes so long as we are being belittled and demeaned. We will swing the votes," one of the newly-minted McCain supporters said.

Split the Democratic Party in half already.
The Clinton moderates, and the Obama/Pelosi/Dean far left loonies.

Looks like the fighting has begun. One delegate called another an "uncle tom", and now they're calling for the resignation.
Ugly fast. LOL!

Can you believe this folks. do you really want 4 more years of any republican in offic? I know they are all politicians and usually say what they think you want to hear, but overall there is some difference in the party philosophies. The Democrat Party really needs to get on with the "business" of bringing some healing to the country.

NICHOLAS,
The Clinton campaign lost many of the caucus races, because they didn't take them seriously.
Primary caucuses have been around for a very long time. All of a sudden because Clinton lost a number of those caucuses, you have a problem with them!!

The "so-called" angry Hillary supporters are actually Republicans in disguise, trying to thrown a wrench in the works!
Let's start treating them like the Repuke-licans they are!!! Let's call a spade a spade, and hammer these idiots!
Democrats must unite or we are going to be "hood-winked" into another 4 or 8 years of the utter and complete failure the Republicans have brought on our country!
Throw the BUMS OUT!!!!
Vote Democrat, Obama/Biden '08!!!!!!

NICHOLAS,
Do you sit down to pee as well? You Republican loser!!!
Obama/Biden '08!!!
Posted by: Davis | Aug 25, 2008 2:33:48 PM
I voted Republican in almost every election since '76 (Carter in '80), but I cannot afford another four years of Bush economics. My income has eroded steadily as my investments all collapsed. I will vote Democrat this year regardless of who ends up nominated. Clinton supporters better smarten up. Get a figgen clue already.

The Clinton voter for McCain is a media driven myth. I have talked to many people who voted for Hillary in the primaries, and not one of them is considering voting for McCain. The press wants to stoke up some nasty little spat to spice their dry election coverage.

The Olympics was only the latest evidence that America is not as strong as she used to be. A communist country effectively used their rising middle-class to put on the greatest show ever AND win the most gold medals. There were just too few Moms’s and Dad’s like Michael Phelp’s or Shawn Johnson’s who’s sacrifice was enough to propel their kids to the top. The rest were too distracted by mortgage failures, medical expenses, gas prices and educational budget-cuts, all problems that grew during two+ decades of rising corporate tax-cuts and profits.
This election is possibly the last chance to save the working middle-class and everything it does for this country. It is unbelievable that many voters are still voting based on identity politics..."my vote will only go to a 'woman' or 'war vet' or "someone more like me" They deserve what they get.
