Bob Woodruff Reports: The Firefighters & The Wounded Marine
August 21, 2008 1:04 PM
Here's a piece by Bob Woodruff and his producers that we're going to air tonight on the broadcast. You get an early read. It's the story of a marine named Sgt. Eddie Ryan who suffered a traumatic brain injury in Iraq. A group of volunteer firefighters have become family to Eddie... supporting him, pulling him up as only 'family' can do.

Dear Woodruff! As I read, I can smile when I hear that "someone" cared for this veteran and his family...We talk a good talk but there is a break in links to meet others who are better off, those who can give support..those who take the time to care...I am a veteran who cares...but have no support down here...Why! When people stay in their corners of subjectivity, can't reach the sources to become resourceful, one gets tired quickly, and the strength of those who moveforward, manaage because they have derived suppor to keep going...Our Marines took a "pretty hard hit" and it still reflects as time moves forward...I would like to trully see that the Marines who went to fight, backs against the wall..Receive recognition from across this nation for the lives they lost....Many of us share in this Hope! We just can't find closeness among the best and the most...Apache
