Barbara Walters & John McCain

September 12, 2008 1:16 PM

We don't watch "The View" often (usually busy at that hour) but this seemed a particularly meaty and provocative exchange on that program this morning...

Barbara was rude. She was not respectful with John McCain.

What's with all this "respect" we're demanded to give the republicans. I don't see any respect given to Obama or his family.

Thank God. At least these were women questioning John McCain about his pick of Palin. We shall wait to see whether the GOP will call them sexist.

Walters just made a fool of herself.

Good for Barbara, about time someone actually asked hard questions, notice she didn't get any answers except wrong ones. Palin didn't turn back earmark spending as governor, she raked it in.

Walters is upset Palin didn't turn a profit on the sale of the jet???
OK, nice criticism there. Get real.

Nice gang up on McCain gals.

Christie,
In her interview with John McCain, she asked him specific questions about the changes that Sarah Palin is supposed to make in Washington. In his replies, he continuously avoided straight answers and only gave his evasive propaganda speeches.

We the American women should rally against Palin, because she is not one of us, she is the contrary of any aspiration women can have on earth. The long fight women has undertaken is threatened by Palin's ascension because of McSame's lack of judgement. God save women from Palin and God save Amnerica from McPalin.

Now, you really can't expect Barbara Walters to respect much about Palin ... after all, her affair with a married man, gives her a very different view on life than the happily married Palin.
Barbara is just a bit biased here ... but then she is on the A(all)B(barack)C(channel)!!!

Pray tell, Barbara & co. were so abrasive to McCain and busy trying to score points with the media and their Hollywood pals for Obama's sake that they're turning off the people that a presidential candidate needs to win: voters.

Good!

I think Senator McCain assumed he would be talking to the People magazine crowd, since that's where he's been focusing his interviews as of late.

Barbara Walters has met and interviewed many heads of state and I think her questions should be treated with the respect she has earned in her career as a trailblazing journalist.

And Barb always says the one thing she admires of anyone, is that they are tolerate. Talking about having it both ways. I think she needs to head on out to the dinosaur farm and retire. What does she offer to the public debate that would be positive. How old is she, McCain's 72, she's maybe, 92.

Posted by: Christie | Sep 12, 2008 1:47:42 PM

And what's with McCain's "if only Obama would have joined in the Town Hall meetings" crap?
What? Play by my rules or I won't play by any?!?!?! What. A. Tool!

Posted by: Dave | Sep 12, 2008 1:47:57 PM

These women never would have treated Biden, Obama or Hilary Clinton as rudely as they did McCain. The usual liberal bias media at work. The same with the Charlie Gibson / Sarah Palin interview- he was talking DOWN to her! Women should be proud that another woman has a shot at the vice presidancy!
Oh, I forgot, conservative women can't
be looked upon as feminists can they?

McCain looked very statesmanlike in putting up with Baba Wawa's shrill whines on The View. And what's with the rapid-fire blinking of her eyes when she tries to make a point?

You ladies never disappoint--always rude, uninformed, biased, and anti-American. How can you look at yourselves in the mirror every morning?Your lack of courtesy to John McCain was unconscionable. You make no effort to be fair and balanced. Why go through the sham of talking to McCain when you might as well just say "We only love Obama" and to hell with everyone who doesn't.

Republicans are feeling buyers remorse today.

Their "heros" are getting trounced simply because they are being asked to actually back up what they've been spewing for two weeks.

No doubt, Palin will never be allowed to campaign by herself for fear she'll be exposed even further. And McCain can't get anyone to listen to him without Palin. A perfect couple!

The Old Man and the Bulldog, a new comedy from the GOP, will soon be released on DVD!

ok, just another charlie gibson, wannabe; again, i used to be a great fan of abc, including good morning america, news with cb; the view; oh, i'll carry it further, also cnn; guess what, these stations have lost one big fan; go fox, at least you are not bias; you all need to treat everyone equal; i bet if questions like th ones thrown at sara by cb and as rude as barbara was with senator mccain had been thrown at bho, he (as he always does) would've made a fool of himself (can't talk or speak without his teleprompter)

I love the View but today I thought certain people were on the attack as you watch Whoopie kept winking at Joy and Barabra was angery the way she asked her question. I hope when Obama, comes on they asked the tough question like did to John McCain. Barabra and Whoopie were rude. At lease Joy was repectful. Today was very disapointing for me the way certain Host, acted. They better asked Obama the same and not soft ball him and treat him like a star.
