Barbara Walters & John McCain
September 12, 2008 1:16 PM
We don't watch "The View" often (usually busy at that hour) but this seemed a particularly meaty and provocative exchange on that program this morning...

Obama was treated completely different. What about the comment from Whoopi concerning slaverly and the constitution????? Crazy and to think a women like Barb Walters was apart of this is even worse. Makes her look dumb to be sitting next to someone who makes comments like that.

It amazes me to see how the whining about the treatment of Palin. Nobody 'talked down to her'. She's being treated as an equal. Unfortunately...she's not an equal and it shows in HER responses.
I guess we'll have to just wait for the next "hard hitting" interview next week on FOX. I'm sure they'll get it just right. HAH!

It is obvious that Barbara Walters and the girls of the
View have made up their mind about all the issues. It
is not a pretty sight to watch someone who thinks they
"know it all" no matter how experienced they may seem. Walters didn't use eye contact and her body language clearly showed she had an agenda from the start of the interview. Thank goodness we women don't have to look to the likes of these woman to make our decision!

Yep, they never treated Bo like that. I remember Behar practically having the big O over BO. Gushing over him & telling him they thought that he was sexy. Pathetic!

ABC is being SLAMMED all over the internet for BONZO JOURNALISM

Barbara Walters should be back doing prime time interviews.
She and the ladies are the first questioners who expected McCain to straight shoot his answers and let him have it when didn't.
Brava!
And did you hear him say he believed Roe vs Wade was a bad law and it is one of the first things Sarah Palin would do to reform Washington--help put justices on the Supreme Court who agree with them.
He graciously said they would not reinstitute slavery.
Why should anyone respect this man?
He stood behind commercials which are outright lies and smears.
Anyone who put up the gutter education ad ought to be run up to Alaska with his soulmate.

Why do all Republicans think that the major news networks, i.e. NBC, MSNBC, CNN, CBS, ABC, all lean toward Obama? Do these networks know something we don't? Only Fixed Noise Channel (FOX) attacks Obama every chance it gets. Could it be that all the other main stream media networks just seem to prefer Obama's politics to the Bush/Cheney/McCain brand? That should tell us something about who is right and who is wrong!

Newsflash.
The majority of American women are not represented by those we see on tv. Like Obama said, the Clinton era, been there, done that (Barb supported and sided with Oprah for Obama and wouldn't support Hillary) when she and Oprah always said women were never treated fairly compared to men). She almost had a lovefest with Obama. You decide.

If THE NEWS MEDIA KEEPS PICKING ON GOV. PALIN IT IS GOING TO BE THE BIGGEST BACKLASH IN HISTORY!

Why the hell would McCain go on a show with this bunch of nitwits? These morons are the reason Sarah Palin is so popular. The more these leftist elitists
disparage Sarah the more support she will receive from real men & women.

I can't believe what McCain said about honoring the forefathers constitution, where apond Whoppi was in horror that she could become a Slave..Why would anyone think (Mc Cain) people 200+yrs ago, would have any answer's for todays life styles..Does anyone have an original thought or idea's.Yes the constitution does work in many areas's and is great. But come on.You dont have to fall back on it,when your clueless...Try your own thoughts..

I don't typically watch The View because they do not represent real American women. However, I was curious as to how they would treat McCain after fawining all over Obama. Would they be equally fair and respectfull? Would they have any integrity at all? The answer....a resounding NO!!!! Just makes my blood boil. I'll definetely never watch them again and I'll also suggest that none of my friends, family, or coworkers watch. Shame, shame, shame on The View!

I am seeing a trend with the liberal media (ABC, NBC, CNN)...When they interview our republican candidates, they become very abrasive, talking down on the candidates... They seem very arogant and opinionated, there is no doubt in my mind that there is a conspiracy against Sarah Palin and John McCain by the liberal media. I was outraged to watch Barbara Walters trying so hard to score points with the media. I was very disapointed to see Charlie Gibson do the same thing as he interviewed Sarah Palin. I thought that Charie Gibson knew better but I guess not...

Again, here we go with people saying that they are rude and talking down to a candidate. What is there to understand that McCain has been throwing mud for weeks and people want him to answer for it. Does it make him uncomfortable? Probably, but if you are going to dish it, you better be able to take it. Thank you to The View for making him accountable for what comes out of his mouth!

Mccain throwing mud? BO invented it with Hillary & then they slammed Palin for being a "small town mayor" overlooking the fact she was govenor! I can't wait until BO loses. I will laugh because the Dems will have thrown it away again on stupidity for not picking the right candidate! Hillary! They're going down!

I'm a proud "liberal" - which seems to be the default definition of anyone who dares say anything other than that McCain and the Republicans are the best and only party.
I believe in the Constitution and the First Amendment, and if John McCain and his running mate lie, I will counter those lies. If I feel that John McCain and his running mate hold views incompatible with mine, I will vote for another candidate.
It is legal and right that candidates for high office are asked tough questions about their views and platform - McCain has certainly been more tha n reude in the last weeks, maybe that's the only tone you can take with him.

I think barbara & whoppie were extremely rude to senator McCain. I watch the view all the time and I expected the girls to treat Senator McCain with the same respect they gave to Obama.Whoppie's remark about slavery was just ignorant!!! Barbara was extremely biased and looked like an IDIOT !!!!!!! Was Elizabeth told not to speak or what?? even joy showed respect.
Posted by: Debbie | Sep 12, 2008 2:27:40 PM
Goldie, think about this... She came to Wasilla as mayor and got a town with a surplus budget. When she left, the town was $27Million in debt. That is a town of less than 10,000 people!!!!
Barbara Walters asked a question and did not get a straight answer and got pissed. How is that disrespectful? who is being disrespectful in Mcsame by not answering the question. This is an old tactic of the modern GOP... Cry as loud as possible when someone gets called out.
Posted by: hafdan | Sep 12, 2008 2:27:59 PM
It's a catfight show. Why anyone even care what they say?
Posted by: Tim | Sep 12, 2008 2:28:32 PM
BARBARA WALTERS MADE A FOOL OF HERSELF AND SHOWED HER BIAS JUST AS CHARLES GIBSON DID.....WILL NO LONGER SUPPORT GIBSON OR WALTERS IN ANY ENDEAVORS THEY DO. AS A VIEWER, I WOULD HOPE THE NOMINEES TO BE GIVEN THE RESPECT OF AN INTERVIEW, NOT AN INTERROGATION........
