The TV Ratings Are In -- Palin's Big Night

September 04, 2008 3:31 PM

Reuters is reporting that 37 million viewers flicked on the set to watch Sarah Palin's speech last night.  Huge numbers, but just shy of Barack Obama's record setting viewership last week.  38.4 million of you watched that.  According to Reuters, 27 million Americans tuned into President Bush's speech at his convention in 2004.

Glad to see people are paying attention. This election is crucial to our future. In another article I was wrong about who would succeed the V.P. if he became unable to perform his duties. It's at the discretion of the President. The Speaker of the House does not automatically step in. Sorry. I thought she was third line for the Presidency. Not so.

37 million!!!! And that was just for our VICE PRESIDENT!!!!! That's unprecedented! Not bad for a hockey mom from a hick town, eh? Lol.

Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound.

And we owe it all to the dems and the liberal media who made sure that many tuned in because of their disgusting bashing. Otherwise probably only 30 would have tuned in.

Great going Dems! We thank you!!

geecee, you are a little mistaken. The speaker of the house is indeed the third in line to the presidency. However, if the vice president is removed for whatever reason, the speaker does not automatically become vice president. After the 25th amendment was passed, the President has the ability to nominate a new vice-president. Prior to that, the vice-president slot just remained empty. Gerald Ford was the first to become vice president in this manner after Spiro Agnew resigned.
