One Week Out: Play Prognosticator

October 28, 2008 9:00 AM

Tired of hearing the poll numbers (even if they're our own, sound-as-can-be metrics)? Care to indulge in a frivolous pursuit with us, one week before Election Day?

Tell us who you believe will win. Give us the percentage breakdown -- 52-48, i.e. -- and the electoral vote count. We'll post winners in this space on November 5.

NH Voter.

Where are you getting the extra 1% from (55+46=101)?

Don't forget Bob Barr, Ralph Nader and others. I give them at least 6%.

It will be:

Obama 51%
McCain 43%
Others 6%

Obama wins 58 to 42

Because America is not stupid our biggest deficit right now is our standing and the support and respect we receive in the world.

Whether it be the war on terror. our handling of the economic collapse from deregulating the architecture that protected us... our recognition of how big a mistake was supporting the Bush policies and platform

this will be a moment when our allies and enemies alike are watching to see how dumb we can be and who has our back...and whose back do we have...

and do we acknowledge when we were not only wrong...but stupidly wrong.

and Steve not to correct you but when parsing the electoral vote count...Barr and Nader matter in each state but not in the overall...vote count...they won't receive any electoral college numbers.

Posted by: dl | Oct 28, 2008 9:47:56 AM

think people if mccain wins

think about how our allies and everyone else is going to look at us the day after.

because they are right...it would be stupid to vote for a man who has been with the President more than 9 out of ten times in the past 8 years...and is promising nothing different besides saying "I am different because what he is promising isn't"

talk about making our nation work twice as hard...ugh.

As a republican proudly supporting Obama/Biden ticket I say the race will be close. I just would not vote for a Women, Sarah Palin who is not qualify to lead if McCain dies. McCain is looking ill and very confused this days. Hes message is just all over the place. The other reason I will not vote for McCain nor Sarah Palin is that she was guilty of abusing her powers as a governor...Sounds familiar???Channey all over again!!! I just dont see anyone voting for McCain his judgement on picking Sarah Palin was erratic. I urge all those Independents, un deciders to vote Obama/Biden We republicans need to come up with a better agenda, ideas and a better candidate and by far a better VP. I asked all my friends is Sarah Palin the best we can do??? They all NO. Lets not get side track and vote for the best team. I will give Obama the edge.

JUST VOTE WITHOUT YOUR VOTE NOONE WINS GET OUT AND VOTE!

Posted by: Angie | Oct 28, 2008 9:52:53 AM

I agree there are people who are still un decided. I hope they all vote SMART this time around. So I will give Obama a small 3% win. I urge all the un deciders not to vote for someone who is in violation of her state statue, abusing her powers as a governor. Sarah Palin is just not ready. If McCain was 50 yrs old I will vote for him. The facts are that hes 73 yrs old, looking ill, had cancer seveal times and if somehting should happened to him we are stuck with the biggest joke Sarah Palin. I am a smart republican women and I will vote for the best team, Obama/Biden. Sarah is cute and somewhat nice but that is just not enogh to be in charge of this great nation.

I predict Chuck Baldwin in a suprising upset (48%) over Nader (39%)

Posted by: Handsome | Oct 28, 2008 10:01:24 AM

Baldwin(43%) over Nader(38%)

Chuck Baldwin will be President

Posted by: Goodlooking | Oct 28, 2008 10:04:47 AM

I agree. I fear a Sarah Palin administration if that is to be due to John McCains health issues. Sarah Palin will be a great sport commentator but she is clearly not ready for VP. The sad part about all this is that the more shes out there the more she looks and sounds stupid and very negative. Yes, I am an independet voter voting for Obama, period. Hes clearly with out a though the best choice. For once in a long time wil will actually have a smart president. I too urge all independent voter to give Obama their support, hes a good man.

Wow, people really can't follow directions. It said to guess the % and the electoral vote. No wonder we have bush/cheney in the white house...geeeezz

Posted by: pt | Oct 28, 2008 10:07:56 AM

Sarah Palin, is the main reason I will support Obama. How in hell will anyone support Sarah Palin after she abused her powers as govenor. We American are way smarter than that. Lets reject this false character Sarah Palin. I will remain republican as i have been for 43 yrs but I will vote Obama.

Posted by: Nathan | Oct 28, 2008 10:10:02 AM

Mike I agree palin would be a good sports commentator if they could substitute another voice for her. Nice to look at but the voice is very irritating...

Posted by: pt | Oct 28, 2008 10:11:52 AM

Obama wins by a small marging.
