Stephanopoulos: What McCain Needs to Do
October 10, 2008 9:37 AM
ABC's George Stephanopoulos: With just a few weeks left in the cycle, Republican presidential candidate John McCain's biggest problem has almost nothing to do with him and everything to do with the economy. The campaign dialogue can't break through the tremendous noise and pain brought on by financial woes that so many Americans have been feeling.
McCain has to figure out a way to tie into anger over the economy and convince voters he's got the better plan to solve the financial crisis -- it's his only real hope for victory.
McCain's latest ad goes about as far as you can go in an ad -- it's the second in two days that hits Democratic candidate Barack Obama for lying about his connection to 1960s radical Bill Ayers, though it wasn't a line of attack McCain chose to use against Obama during this week's debate.

The MSM needs to stop doing factchecking.
By doing factchecking, the MSM demonstrates that it is in the tank for Obama.

Let's be clear as they lob accusations while they are covering a whack job as a back up president...
here are some facts on their playing field...
while the rest of us try to figure out these horrific policies that were put in place from 2000 to 2006
hmm who was in power during that time?
hmmm.
Vogler founds AIP in the 70's
to fight for secession...
in 1993 he is killed trying to buy plastic explosives for domestic terrorism for said party's beliefs
in the wake of his being murdered...
1994 - AIP draws up the constitution to secede from the US
Todd and Sarah Palin attend.
1995 - Todd Palin officially joins AIP to become a 7-9 year active member...
2000 - Palin attends again.
2006 - Palin is still so "inspired" and supportive of this secessionist group, she gives the keynote speech.
2008 - Palin video tapes her support for this party.
this party was founded on the beliefs of secession and the same values that Vogler was willing to kill people over.
unrepentantly.
values and beliefs that in the year they were mourning his death adn drawing up a constitution Todd Palin was inspired to join... and Sarah Palin obviously found their values compelling enough to support and attend their conventions.
ugh

I'm interested to see what they will say about the investigation today?
Posted by: Freedom USA | Oct 10, 2008 9:50:05 AM
the Vogler stuff is enlightening as we see Palin's inciting crowds at her rally's and John mccain getting caught up in her values and crowds...
ignoring the economy
and inciting the worst sides of American domestic...yes...terrorism
where do you think most domestic terrorism comes from
those people at those rally's yelling those hateful things look familiar...
anyone recognize the name McVaigh ...and think he sounded a lot like some of those that Palin obviously wants to get riled.
throw these disgusting bums out as they incite hatred as our country burns.
same team same tactics but worse...
throw these bums out!
Posted by: dl | Oct 10, 2008 9:50:33 AM
where does Palin think domestic terror comes from most...
does she not recognize who Timothy mcVeigh was?
as our economy fails
and our country is going down the crapper
one team incites hate.
throw this ignorant person back to where she came from.

I feel so sorry for the racist Republicans. They will be extinct soon.
America is not going for that anymore.
Remember them. Their pictures will be right next to the dodo bird.

You forgot one core family value:
Have affairs on your disfigured wife and leave her to marry the prettier "Rich One"!

Reason,
I'm hearing that those are Obama plants trying to create a false impression as to being associated with McCain. Do you think Obama's people are up to dirty tricks? Remember Bill Ayers and what he's done in his lifetime?
Posted by: WestCoastMessenger | Oct 10, 2008 9:55:40 AM
McCain was once a Hero
Now he is a just a Zero.
so sad

Here is the truth about ACORN and Obama whether you guys want it or not:
In his capacity as an attorney, Barack represented ACORN in a successful lawsuit alongside the U.S. Department of Justice against the state of Illinois to force state compliance with a federal voting access law. For his work helping enforce the law, called “Motor Voter,” Barack received the IVI-IPO Legal Eagle Award in 1995.

WestCoast...get real here...these people are radical right wingers that Palin has up her sleeve. They started appearing at her rallies when the "terrorist" rhertoic started. If they were Obama plants, the McCain/Palin team would denounce them. They aren't!!!

Let us be clear
WHERE DOES DOMESTIC TERRORISM COME FROM PREDOMINANTLY?
Let us be clear
the AIP Vogler thing is important
in the face of our country imploding
Palin wants to incite those same values at her rally's
America should be throwing up with such disgust.
seems Palin was only governor for 19 months ....and in 19 months she already has an ethics investigation
you know the one announced today
Be very clear
what her support and todd's support for Vogler and AIP means...
as our country goes fown the tubes over the last week
Palin incites her crowds with accusations and incendiary comments
ignoring the economy...
for inciting these values
those people screaming hateful things look familiar?
where do you think the bulk of domestic terrorism comes from?
Does the name McVeigh ring a bell.
do you not see the values she is inciting...the same ones that someone who would back up Joe Voglers party would have.
the same ones that McVeigh had...
the same ones that someone yelling those "killem" "ni@#$er" "terrorist" "hang em" "boy" etc etc...
would scream at a rally.
Let us be clear where domestic terrorism comes from...
the AIP Vogler thing is important
in the face of our country imploding
Palin wants to incite those same values at her rally's
America should be throwing up with such disgust.

I see they are now depressing the results of the investigation into Palin as governor. What is she afraid of? What does she think will be revealed?

McCain ... Leader? How laughable.
Does he attract the GOP BASE. NO
Does he captivate Dems and Ind. NO
Does he inspire the country. NO
Does he exemplify any Presidential qualites: HELL NO
The reason why MCcain is still in the race is due to the howdy doody effect. Meaning that folks will folks will vote GOP even if howdy doody was on the GOP ticket
Oddly enough that may be true. McCain is now just a puppet appealing to the bigots of his base.
He was probably hoping that his PATRIOTIC pitch would have gotten him over the bar. But since we have been hit with this Historic Economic Crisis, all that Patriotism garb trotted right out door.
Now he is parroting Sean Hannity(the King Bigot of the GOP) talking points. You can tell McCain doesn't have the heart because he sounds so flimsy when he talks about it. Palin is so ditsy she sounds unbelievable everytime she opens that suck of hers.
Move aside McCain .... you don't have the heart to lead this country.

John McCain - has "nothing" (no plan) to offer the American people.
John McCain - Just has "warmed-over" ideas of the Bush Administration and
his republican’s handlers.
McCain's best days are behind him.

Mccain is a big failure. He puts politics first instead of country first.

Obama said it best.
He can't say it to my face. I think McCain will either start crying or have an anger attack if he mentions ayers or wright at the next debate.
At the Hanoi Hilton he had these but now they are raisins.

This is SO Old,
LOL
I think McCain's strategy right now isn't working. There's no slide in the polls for Obama. McCain needs a postive message. Right now he seems like an angry old man. Angry is okay. But angry for the purpose is not.
McCain seems angry b/c Obama winning... he should be angry about the past 8 years. And b/c he's not Obama is doing a great job connecting him to the Bush years.
The only people who care about the Ayers and Rekco are the conservatives. Swing voters care about the economy and b/c he [McCain], Palin and his campiagn on talking about past associations rather then the economy it's really hurting his chances.
Also it seems rather political. Everyone knows about swift boat and people are deciding not to fall for it b/c we fell for it the last time and ended up with BUSH.
