Palin Soaks Up Media Spotlight
November 12, 2008 5:01 PM
ABC's Kate Snow reports:
Bill McAllister is suddenly a very busy man. As spokesman for the Governor of Alaska, his role was pretty much taken over in an instant last August -- the moment Governor Sarah Palin was selected as John McCain's running mate. The McCain campaign quickly selected a brand new team of communication specialists to travel with her and work out of McCain's Virginia headquarters, while McAllister kept the office lights on back in Alaska.
But ever since last Tuesday, when all those campaign aides disbanded and scattered off to long-delayed vacations, McAllister has been inundated. The requests for interviews are pouring in. "Hundreds of 'em," McAllister says.
And Palin is accepting. She just did an interview with CNN's Wolf Blitzer in Miami. Tonight she'll be the featured guest on Larry King Live. Yesterday it was the Today Show with Matt Lauer. On Monday Greta van Susteren came by to talk. And there will be more before the week is through.
Palin arrived in Miami early this morning to attend the Republican Governors Association annual conference. I hear it was quite the scene when she strolled through the lobby, en route to talk with Wolf.
"Looking Toward the Future" -- that's the title of the panel discussion Palin will appear at tomorrow morning. She'll likely talk about the future of the party. Whither the GOP? But a lot of people in the room will be wondering if that title isn't just a little bit autobiographical as well.
Governor Palin is also expected to take questions from reporters in Miami. By my count that will be the fourth press conference she's done since election day.
"I would have preferred more opportunity to speak to the media more often," Palin told Fox News the other day. "Because there were a lot of things that I think it could have, should have said that could have, would have helped John McCain."

"Alaska governor Sarah Palin continues to get offers for publicity appearances, but this one might top them all. TNA wrestling is offering her $50,000 to the charity of her choice to join the villainous Beautiful People as an honorary member."
How are we supposed to take this moron seriously when her own "peeps" are making a joke of her.

From another blogger! Oh, and another thing: I notice that whenever Sarah Palin is being interviewed, when the camera shifts to the interviewer, they all seem to have the same perplexed, awestruck look on their faces that this woman could have even been considered for such a high office, let alone a candidate! Whether it is Katie Couric, Charlie Gibson, Greta Van Susteran (I saw outtakes from that interview last night), Matt Lauer, etc., their appearances are similar! I give them credit for remaining as professional and objective as they do.
Have fun with your interview with Sarah Palin today, Wolf!! Good luck!

Go away already Palin! Take a hint. If people wanted to continue seeing you and listening to your senseless blabbering, we would have voted for you. We didn't.

She will not make 2012 the media is just doing what they do...and she is falling for it again... This lady loves the spotlight...

The greatest danger Palin faces is the inability to know that she does not know! Even in her recent flurry of interviews, she revealed a big and gaping scope of ignorance.

None of her own "peeps" are making a joke of Sarah Palin, that was John McCain's "peeps." Pay attention hang.

hang ...no one is expecting you or any other jealous liberal to take her seriously. you guys are scared...BHO has about 12 months to dance or the house and senate will be in jeopardy. she has got it all and is going to gain all the experience she needs in the next 4 years. sarah is a stud.

She's gullible enough to believe that people still want to hear about her & delusional to think she has a snowball's chance in 2012. Only Greta Van Susteren is desperate enough to continue to have her on her show and be her one-woman fan club. Greta, the election is over. Let Palin and the state of Alaska go back into hibernation. Palin has embarrassed enough people already.

Palin was nothing but a ploy, used and then abused, by the Republicans...and she is still so dumb, she doesn't yet know it!!!
Posted by: karen | Nov 12, 2008 5:49:23 PM
Does she know how irritating she is? Like a mosquito bite?
Has she heard of such concepts as humility, introspection?

HER 15 MINUTES OF FAME, BLAME AND SHAME WERE UP WHEN THEY INVENTED THE FIRST SUN DIAL.
WHY BEAT A DEAD MOOSE ?
LMAO

Palin is a tool. She's going nowhere fast. Next...

Sarah Palin has gotten a taste of the spotlight & now she's like a junkie, she can't get enough. Being the family person she proclaimed to be, where is she finding the time? She's been away from home for the last 3 months with the campaign & what does she do, leave again to do interviews. I'm sure the Alaskan taxpayers are loving this. Hypocrite.

She just announced she would be willing to work with Obama if he asked her. What is with this woman. She is nuts. Obama should hire her and stick her up north where no one will hear from her. Oh wait, that is where she was before McCain had the wisdom (of a goat) to pick her for his VP.

It's so funny to see how UPSET people get about Palin. Think she's dumb? Everyone thought Regan was dumb too. I think she's playing you. Anyway, why are you all still whining and complaining when you got your guy elected? You should be happy! Stop trashing Sarah, she having the last laugh.

Maybe we could this period of time, "Palin Unleashed."
Too bad the McCain didn't "manage" her better. It was like putting a fire extinguisher to the fire when it is twenty below out.
Now America will get a better view and can decide if they like this new landscape.

Enough already.....pleeeeease tell her to go home and leave us alone. This is worse than the gong show......pleeeeease
Posted by: jim | Nov 12, 2008 6:15:25 PM
I told you she wouldn't release her medical records
Doing interviews & believing she could be president in 2012 just proves that.
Go away Sarah

Sarah palin is an incredibly talented woman. She was not born with a silver spoon in her mouth so she put herself through college. She decided to get involved in her local community unlike many of us who complain but do nothing. She wanted to make more of an impact so she tried for a higher office, then an even higher office. I think if you look at her accomplishments alone you have to admit that she is an incredible person. For those who argue this you are practically calling all of the citizens of Alaska idiots. They gave her the highest approval rating of any Governor in the United States.
Stop feeling so threatened by this very talented woman and just accept that is here to stay.

Bottom line: Palin a real person not some retread Washington Politician...thats why she doesn;t sound like a politician nor carries all the baggage that they have...a ton of lawyers and media people combed Alaska for dirt on her when she was announced...and found nothing of substance to pin on her...if Obama had had the same treatment by the media..he would have never been elected.
She has a ways to go to have the right experience to be President but time is on her side.....and she has the strong values and self confidence that will carry her far.
