Transition Nuggets
November 21, 2008 1:00 PM
Bits and pieces from the reporting on the man now known as PEBO. That's President-Elect Barack Obama.
NYTimes: One friend said Mrs. Clinton decided late Wednesday to say no, reasoning that she would have more freedom in the Senate. By midday Thursday, the friend said, she was "back in the indecisive column again." By the end of the day, another associate said she could accept by Friday. At the end of a confused day in which even Mr. Obama's advisers seemed unsure what was happening, a transition official reached out to reporters Thursday night to say that the president-elect's team believed things were on track with Mrs. Clinton and that her nomination could be announced after Thanksgiving...In particular, the friend said, Mrs. Clinton was upset when the leadership rejected the possibility of her heading a special new task force with a staff and a mandate to develop legislation expanding health care coverage.
WPost: Top aides to the president-elect had hoped to take a methodical approach to selecting and unveiling their new team, starting with the announcements of top national security and economic players shortly after Thanksgiving. But leaks and rumors have disrupted that plan, suggesting that the "no-drama Obama" mantra famously repeated by his staff may not be as operational in Washington as it was at campaign headquarters in Chicago.
Politico: President-elect Barack Obama's transition team is asking potential appointees detailed questions about gun ownership, and firearms advocates aren't happy about it. The National Rifle Association has denounced the move, which has already led one Republican senator to consider legislation aimed at ensuring a president can't use an applicant's gun ownership status to deny employment.

Ron Paul for Treasury Secretary. He is the only counter to these Keynesians run amok. He and Peter Schiff have correctly predicted all that is happening for nearly a decade now even in the face of mounting laughter and denial by other so called experts.
Come on Obama. We know you have recieved a load of cash from the well-connected corrupt banking firms, but surely you will reward the guy that has been right all along.

Hillary would best serve in the senate.
I just don't see her in Obama's cabinet.
It might also hinder Bill's work that he is doing now. (maybe conflict of interest?)
Pres. Clinton and Pres. George Bush, Sr.
are doing great work now.
Let everybody stay where they are.
Find someone with international experience to fill that post.
