World Newser Question Of The Day

By now you probably know -- the Obama budget runs north of three and a half trillion dollars. You probably also know -- as a political document it has already sparked considerable debate: Is the budget fair? In particular -- is it right to tax the well-to-do to create a $634 billion health-care fund? And to reduce deductions on mortgage interest and charitable giving?

House GOP leader John Boehner calls the budget "a job killer," and argues that "the President is beginning to make President Bush look like a piker when it comes to spending."

For his part, the President says, "We need to be honest with ourselves about what costs are being racked up, because that's how we'll come to grips with the hard choices that lie ahead." As for the charge of irresponsible spending -- "I work for the American people, and I'm determined to bring the change that the people voted for last November. And that means cutting what we don't need to pay for what we do."

Our Question of the Day is essentially this: What do you think of the Obama budget?
