Brockton, Mass: Down-on-its-Luck City Shines On Court

As part of our series "The Kitchen Table," we're embedding in the community of Brockton, Mass., to get a firsthand look at how the city, where unemployment is already at 10 percent, is coping with the recession and preparing for the challenges ahead. A high school basketball game last night symbolized its troubles and its determination.
After an undefeated season, the Brockton High Boxers
earned a spot to the State basketball semi-finals at the Boston

WHy now is Brockton considered an economic problem? As far as I'm concerned; and I am a baby boomer, it has always had financial problems.
