Do NOT give AIG anymore of our taxpayer dollars. It'll only be used to go in their pockets for bonuses. Obviously, they didn't need the money for the company's survival. They are lying to us and to the Government.

It just gets more crazy..Vacations, private jets, parties, millions in bonuses to the very people who brought AIG down. Are they accepting applications?

Let AIG fail, as a former insured by AIG, I'd rather see them FAIL than suck up anymore of MY/Taxpayers money. Make them an example for other Corporations/Banks, if AIG is allowed to fail it just might change the way SOME Corporations/Banks do business. I am a firm believer that People receiving these bonus don't deserve them as they participated in this mess. RETENTION!!! B.S. maybe if AIG would realize there's a whole new crop of Eexcutive looking for work, and BONUSES maybe the last thing on their minds. SEND THE MESSAGE... TAXPAYERS ARE TRIED OF CORPORATE GREED!!!!!!!!!

So Bagdad is safe for the boys to race their cars and for the girls to buy western clothes? Where is the context? How did this happen? The med student came back home in October??? Could this story have been told then? Would Bush get the credit? News to O'Bama and O'Gibson - we're on to your jedi mind trick - this isn't the sleazy, leftist administration you're looking for, you say? We know better and we know slant when we see it!

Charlie's tie is green. And I must tell this....when he made his Irish sound off at the end of the broadcast, my son Aidan (and no, we are not Irish, LOL) said "He is so creative with his words, that's why I love ABC news with Charles Gibson." Keep up the great work Charlie! Anytime you help me keep a nine yr. old still, you are cool in my book (but I've loved you for years).

After watching the broadcast tonight, I just had to write in to tell Charlie that he is an important part of my day. Like 9 year old Aidan mentioned in the previous post, I admire his way with words, especially today with the Irish touch! I also want Charlie to know that he often puts a lump in my throat when he says so sincerely, "...and I hope you had a good day." It is a small thing, but it means so much. Just know I'm out in TV land saying the same thing back to you!!

Sharperpen; ya know all of this yelling about how Iraq is today has nothing to do with President Moron (Bush Jr.) It has everything to do McCain and getting rid of Rumsfeld, McCain was one of the people who recomended Robert Gates and the surge! Rumsfeld should have been fired after the 2004 election but President Moron wouldn't have it!
Besides the fact that the war was based on lies to begin with, and the media played right into there little web by not asking the hard questions.
You people talk about the media being Left wing bias, the media are like horses of a different color, they change with the weather...all in the name of ratings when there is no ratings there is no Money!
No, President Moron is going to be remembered for the Moron that he is, one of the worse Presidents this country has seen, I would even go so far as putting him above Nixon.
When you ask people about Nixon and what happen to him, they respond with..."oh" he was impeached, which btw he wasn't, he resigned before being impeached. But the older Generation don't remember it like that, they remember that he was impeached.

Charlie O’Gibson can always find some good news to give us! We look forward to his newscast every night. Charlie has the heart and soul that I wish our political leaders could cultivate. We trust him and look forward to his visit in our home each night. It’s like having a visit from our favorite uncle – he makes us feel safe and among family.

Why doesn't someone call out the grandstanding members of congress who berate CEOs and other top executives for giving and receiving bonuses and high salaries for poor performance? To the best of my knowledge, congress just voted itself an increase after one of the lowest performance ratings in history!

What was the Irish phrase Charlie siad at the very end of his braodcast? My Uncle use to say the same thing and I had forgot the actual phase.

AIG is despicable !!! The taxpayers own 80% of this company, we should fire all the executives for "CAUSE" that way they would not be entitled to any "Golden Parashute" nor Bonus monies.
These folks are setting the worst example for the youth of America, they are legalized ROBBERS and they are stealing our money !!!!!!
Let them rot in hell !!!

Charlie has been ending news w/ a positive note for at least a year. Today I saw NBC touting (on ABC!!!!)that they now end the news w/ a good deed reported by viewers. My only thought is that they're LATE! thanks charlie!

Taking out the bonus money of the next money to be given to AIG is not acceptable. DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY MORE MONEY, UNTIL THEY GET BACK ALL THE BONUS MONEY, AND SIGN AGREMENT NOT TO DO SUCH FOOLISH THING AGAIN.
DO NOT BACK DOWN, NO MORE MONEY TO AIG.
THAT FINAL. SOME ONE HAS TO STAND UP TO THEM ALSO THE ELECTED OFFICIALS WHO RECEIVED THE $630,000. SHOULD ALSO GIVE THAT BACK TO PAY DOWN THE DEBIT OF AIG.

I was watching the news last night (March 17) and noticed that Charlie Gibson ... a.k.a. Colin O'Gibson ... was wearing a gray or silver tie with dark stripes for most of the broadcast. Then, I looked up for the last few minutes, and he was wearing a light green tie. I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me!

I have been watching Charlie Gibson for years when he was on Good Morning America and World News and he is so much fun and sincere when he reports anything. He is a good family man and a wonderful reporter. I like the way he signs off each night to the world. Stay sincere Charlie!!!

To the extent, Charlie Gibson, who has also been creditable in his experience of journalism, has attained his stature of trustworthy throughout the years he had been with ABC News in the broadcasting of Good Morning America then and now in ABC World News Tonight. Although there plethora and myriads of descriptions to be associated with Charlie Gibson, the one that has been noticeable and not latent has been his deft, ingenious ability to elucidate the overall appearance of the disposition of the people by manifesting his attitude between the segments of major events. In addition, he also acquires the natural aptitude to delineate his ideas and assumptions wherein the time allotted lets him. It may give the impression that Charlie, perfunctory and facile in reporting, never obtains to articulate his attribute on the air given the fact that he anchors ABC World News Tonight he does moderate this instance off air. However to refer back, Charlie is prescribed with compelling sense to entrust optimism and faith in harrowing, formidable coincidences at the conclusion of the broadcast to assure and alleviate the symptoms that he also experiences the information being brought in a enervating style. The reference to the quote, “I’m Charlie Gibson, and I hope you had a good day. For all of us at ABC News, have a good night,” transmits the atmosphere of hope in the United States and wherever it broadcasted, therein the time of the economic notoriety and civil discrepancy. In essence, Charlie Gibson maintains the trust inscribed with Peter Jennings and Ted Koppel to vindicate the news seriously but to manifest it with the tone, which clearly should be maintained respectfully, that has evolved him into transitioning into one of the respected journalist.
