A Figure From Your Past Has Passed

Like Pop Rocks and Coke, Risk, some Atari "Pong", throw in a Pixie stick or two, and you're in the right mind set to fondly recall the days of Dungeons & Dragons.

We learned today that one of the games creators has died.  Dave Arneson was 61 years old and lost his battle with cancer.

Dungeons & Dragons was invented in 1974 by Arneson and Gary Gygax .  It was a beakthrough of sorts in the history of gaming.  D & D helped usher in the role playing approach to games emulated by all those video games of today.

Big dice, elves, archers, experience points, dungeon masters, trolls...those were the days.
