Gov Sanford “Out of State But In Country.”
July 16, 2009 3:43 AM
South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford skipped a meeting with a top economic adviser and traveled out of state with his wife on Wednesday. That's according to the Governor’s spokesman, Joel Sawyer, who refused to tell the media where the Sanfords went.
“The trip is personal in nature, and we’re not going to offer any further comment,” Sawyer said. He did say that the couple is “out of state but in country. “ The trip is scheduled to last a week.

I think that family comes first in all aspects. If the Governor needs to take time to sort things out with his wife, let him be.

I can understand that family is important. Really, if he needs time to get things with his family back together, let him do it.
But he should resign to do it. The people of South Carolina don't need their governor missing for days when they have pressing issues like the economy.
