'If you do not release the U.S. soldier, then...you will be hunted'
July 17, 2009 10:19 AM
It's Friday...here are some stand out quotes:
"There were several perpetrators. They were disguised as guests and stayed in room 1808." -- Indonesian Maj. Gen. Wahyono, following Friday's twin explosions at the Jakarta Marriott and Ritz-Carlton hotels, which killed nine and injured more than fifty
"Under current circumstances, there is no need for us to have people in prisons. Allow them to return to their families." -- Iran's former President Ayatollah Hashemi Rafsanjani, in a Friday sermon that sparked large-scale protests in Tehran
‘We're ready when we're ready...A bipartisan bill is the only kind of bill that can ultimately pass the Senate.” -- Montana Senator Max Baucus, dismissing President Barack Obama's call for swift passage of a health-care reform bill
“No one has written your destiny for you...Your destiny is in your hands, and don’t you forget that. That’s what we have to teach all of our children! No excuses! No excuses!” -- President Obama, in speech marking the 100th anniversary of the NAACP
"If you do not release the U.S. soldier, then...you will be hunted" -- from leaflet distributed by U.S. Military in eastern Afghanistan, two weeks after an American soldier was captured there

I think the "you will be hunted" was very weak. "We will take what ever action is nescessary" should have been the statement

Considering they are still "hunting" Osama Bin Laden, the threat is empty and meaningless.
Do I need to join the Marines and get my boots on the ground and a pen in my hand?
Come on guys...

One more thing...we need to "consider the source" in ascertaining whether the soldier is still with us or demand proof of life.

Would I really put my boots on ground...? Yep, I think I would, as long as I also had an AK47, gear and a bible. I never would have said this before 9/11. My prayers are with the solider, his family, friends and his brothers and sisters in his unit.
