"Low Life" Jackson was a "Pervert, a Child Molester, he was a Pedophile," says Rep. Peter King

July 09, 2009 2:16 AM

Not everyone was happy with Tuesday's wall-to-wall coverage of Michael Jackson's memorial. In a YouTube video, Peter King, a republican congressman from New York, says:

“All we hear about is Michael Jackson.” “Let’s knock out the psychobabble. He was a pervert, a child molester, he was a pedophile. And to be giving this much coverage to him, day in and day out, what does it say about us as a country?”

Some 31.1 million people in the United States watched the Michael Jackson memorial on television, with millions more catching video streams on their computers, according to Nielsen Media Research.

I'm no Michael Jackson fan (and yes, I found the coverage for the last two weeks WAY over the top) but isn't it interesting that a member of the US Congress doesn't understand what being found innocent in a court of law means.

Maybe he should be more concerned about what having congressmen who don't understand the basic tenets of our legal system says about our country?

Yup! Another blowhard, mean-spirited Republican jerk being a class act!

Michael may have been many things, to many people, but at least he brought joy to people to his music.

I wonder what they will say about Mr. Peter King at his funeral?

Do you have any proof? Who are you to judge?

When I was molested and raped by family member 40 years ago, I have never recovered and remain sexually ambiguous to this very day. The thing about it it, my mother and her sister knew and did nothing about it. My life has been a Stonewall Riot every since. There has been no therapy that has worked and have been totally estranged by everyone. Since Obama did nothing for rights of non-heterosexual people, my life lays in limbo as I am still dealing with unrest about the entire ordeal and still have to deal with the same family members who molested, raped and terrorized me as a child and I can't say anything because of privacy rights of the perpetrators. President Obama is justified in his words about the sad and tragic things in Michael Jacksons life. Michael Jackson-according to inside sources, Katherine and Joe and the whole family knew Michael was a pediphile before he was aquitted of charges of Child Molestation. I am sorry that he died so suddenly and I am a fan of his music, but, there is nothing in my heart. I am a victim of child molestation and rape myself. So there is no remorse that I feel. Children never get over this dispicable delimna and have to live with it everyday, seek phsychiatric help, do drugs or go insane with the aftermath that a person never gets over. Nothing works to get rid or the pain and life long suffering Psychiatric help, therapy, etc., will ever heal that. To sum it all up to the hilt, a vicitim cannot trust God or anyone else in life, always on the lookout for mistreatment and get there share daily when so many people fail to see the truth about themselves or anyone else. Moreover, the Holy Bible perpetrators play a god role and every one is trying to out play everyone else. Knowing that there is no God.

Michael Jackson visited Malaysia back in 1996 and since then many Malaysians have waited for him to stop by again.

It seems like many Americans do not know how to appreciate Michael Jackson as one of the country’s biggest income contributor. When Michael Jackson was in Malaysia, he donated generously to orphanages and performed superbly to his fans. We love him!

Malaysia’s biggest trading partner is the US and American entertainers like Michael Jackson and Mariah Carey play a big part in that equation.

Upon his passing, three Cabinet ministers in Japan recount positive contribution by the King of Pop but this was met with baseless attacks by New York Congressman Peter King. Very sad.

I don’t know why some reporters in the US are so stingy with positive affirmation of their entertainers. There are overwhelming personal gossips on talented entertainers like Michael Jackson, Madona and Britney Spears. The focus should be about their contribution to the US economy, especially in the current recession.

I support Michael Jackson being honoured a World Humanitarian. He is a good example of a diligent and kind-hearted American who care about people in developing nations. Michael Jackson has done more good for his country than most Americans like Peter King want to admit.

In the eyes of the international community, American soldiers are not heroic, they have killed innocent civilians in Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan. We can't help but see American soldiers as murderers.

It is time for the US lawmakers to ‘heal the world’ like Michael Jackson, and not go to war. US lawmakers should focus taxpayers’ money on enhancing trade and making peace.

AS CONGRESSWOMAN SHIELA JACKSON LEE SAID "MICHAEL JACKSON IS INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY"

IT'S JUST A PITY THAT THOSE PEOPLE WHO WERE SUPPOSE TO HAVE THE INTELLECT TO UNDERSTAND THAT PHRASE AND TO UNDERSTAND WHAT KIND OF LIFE MICHAEL JACKSON HAD AS A CHILD, REALLY FINDS IT SO DIFFICULT TO UNDERSTAND SIMPLE PHRASE.

IT WOULD BE EVEN ACCEPTABLE TO SAY THAT MJ HAD A PSYCHOLOGICAL PROBLEM, A 50-YEAR OLD WHO NEVER GREW UP AND WHO STAYED WITH THE MIND OF THAT OF A CHILD OF 10 YEARS OLD, LOVING ELEMENTARY THINGS AND LOVING KIDS.

I WISH THOSE PEOPLE WHO POINTS TO MJ THE MISTAKE THAT IS BEING ACCUSED OF HIM WILL BE ABLE TO SLEEP AT NIGHT. THEY HAVE NOT EVEN DONE HALF OF WHAT MJ HAS DONE, OF TOUCHING ONE'S LIFE. WHAT THEY DO ONLY IS RUIN ONE'S LIFE FOR THEIR OWN INTEREST.

THE PERSON IS DEAD ALREADY FOR GOD'S SAKE CAN'T YOU JUST LEAVE HIM ALONE PEOPLE???

T Howard - why aren't you mad at the presidents before Obama?????? If this happened 40 years ago, why are blaming Obama, there were a lot of presidents before him.

Posted by: smt | Jul 9, 2009 6:11:55 AM

How can you compare Jackson with the soldiers in Vietnam or Iraq????? I don't understand - please explain.

The soldiers are fighting for freedom and MANY, MANY have lost their lives. Jackson was an entertainer. How many of our soldiers have been killed? These men are the HEROES, not Jackson.

There's an old saying that 'People who live in glass houses should not throw stones'. Maybe Congressman King should look at the skeleton's in his closet. Live on MJ! Live on!

I think this guy is either racist or simply dim-witted unintelligent legislature who doesn’t even know the basic tenet of US constitution. Can some congressmen give him some lesson? This is a shame!

MJ was an ideal American king encompassing the whole world in his kind heart and echoing it out through his music. True, sincere and responsible Americans should be thinking about why our society made him suffer and dragged a divine and insightful entertainer to this end. We owe him this memorial and many more work to enlighten his soul as he filled us with extraordinary moments through his talents. Unfortunate and greedy gang and pitiful politicians like Peter take away our sanity and identity, but we will forever be positively vibrating stronger because Michael taught us to fight, live, protect and be bigger than created insanity that come in our way to destroy every trace of strength within ourselves. We will always be inspired by MJ's compassionate heart, his enfolding dance waves around us and at times his enveloping voice, his bold expressiveness, and a strong will to do what was right for himself and for his children. Hope Michael feels and understands from our tributes that even this entire world needs to have his energy to move forward and tackle the challenges of this life.

MICHAEL JACKSON WAS A TRUE SUPERSTAR - AN AMBASSADOR, AND THERE IS NOTHING YOU CAN DO ABOUT IT. RIP KING OF POP.

Posted by: jayne | Jul 9, 2009 6:37:54 AM

PETER KING = HYPOCRIT. Let's suppose that everything he says about Michael Jackson is true and that history is being rewritten to show him in a better light. THE SAME THING WAS DONE FOR BOTH KENNEDYs AND ROOSEVELT, to name a few. So boo-hoo, Mr. King. Michael Jackson did more good for the world than any President so far.

Opinions. After all is said and done, thats all it really is. And EVERYONE has one dont they? Its interesting to read and hear everyones opinion, but as far as innocence or guilt, the only one who really knows for sure are the violator and the victims. Having said that; my suggestion is to give credit for the good and punishment to the bad. All of us on this planet have done both. Michael was no different, so who are we to judge? I am not proud of the things I have done wrong and I am very proud of the things I have done right. Its my opinion that everyone should stop judging others and take a long look in the mirror because when we point one finger at someone else there are three others pointing back at you. Take the time to think about that before you give your opinion. I did.

LIKE IT WAS SAID ARE U A JUDGE ONLY GOD KNOWS WHAT HAPPENED .AND I DONT BELIEVE HE WAS.HE WAS A KID AT HEART HIMSELF/

Posted by: SHERY | Jul 9, 2009 7:01:12 AM

Who are you Peter King to point your finger and judge Michael Jackson? You must remember only God have a right to judge His creation and no one else, all of us will give our account before Him on His coming, and you must prepare for yourself about it, instead of being busy on Michael's interest. Michael do his great job. He has a big heart to others, his love and compassion show everyone and i think this time he is in our Creator's hand. So for everyone of us let's Michael Jackson have rest and peace. And for Peter King do you know where is your soul going after your final breath?
