Michael Jackson 'Woodstock' at Neverland Not Happening
July 01, 2009 1:40 PM
Local officials were preparing for a flood of tens of thousands of Jackson fans to the remote ranch in Santa Barbara County. But the Associated Press is reporting that a Neverland burial wasn't meant to be. There was speculation that the family would hold a public viewing of the singer's body at his beloved ranch (the makings of an epic traffic jam). It's not clear why it won't be Neverland but it is worth noting that there is only a two lane road leading to the ranch. No word yet on where and when the family will bury Jackson.

If Michael Jackson was such an icon, then why are all these rumors coming
out? Just bury him and let him rest in peace!

my dear robert roche,
If Michael Jackson was NOT a larger than life icon there would NOT be any rumors. Everyone is seeking their 15 minutes of fame or the publication of their "interests." The larger the icon the greater the interest.

I guess they forgot one little detail. In California a body must be buried in a cemetery, or else cremated and the ashes kept in an urn at home or desposed of as you wish. It would not have been legal to bury him at Neverland.

I have been wondering where they would hold his public memorial. Michael said he never wanted to go back to Neverland anyway. Whereever his memorial is held it has to be a place large enough to hold his multitude of fans. You know they will come from everywhere. The biggest mistake the family could make would be not to have a public memorial. I personaly don't think there needs to be a public viewing, that needs to be for his family only. I hope his children are being shielded from all the rumors that are flying around about their parentage. The media should be more thoughtful of their feelings.
