Finishing out a commitment isn't "milking it," it's taking responsibility and living up to your word, and the term of office isn't "politics as usual," it's a specific commitment set forth in a state's constitution.
Her argument only makes sense within the context of viewing the governorship as being a political stepping stone first and an office whose point is serving the state of Alaska second. Flip the priorities the other way around and her logic falls totally apart. It's very telling.

Politics as usual would be to do like Hillary Clinton and beg the public for funds to pay off your personal debts. Or promise plum political appointments to those who raise millions for your campaign-like Obama.
I wish more politicians would quit in the middle of their term...or even at the beginning. Here are a few that would save the nation a lot of money and stress, Barak Obama, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Chris Dood, Barney Frank, Henry Waxman....PLEASSSSSSSSSSE!!!! Follow Palin's lead!

hmmmm. seems like a partisan list to me.
And it is early for Palin and her debt... don't count her out for anything.
this is a big PR stunt...and you've been sucked right into it.

I noticed that Palin's remarks about the POTUS having full access to the "Department of Law" got edited out of ABC evening news. The public has a right to know how woefully un-qualified this women is. When all your hear about is "Liberal Media", one has to laugh.
