Don Hewitt was a broadcast journalism genius. His brilliance helped to broaden the scope of broadcast journalism for this entire world.

Don Hewitt is quoted as saying that in deciding what to put on television he went by his "gut". He obviously had a good sense of what would appeal to a broad public.
