Who's the Chicest Woman in Paris? Not Carla Bruni...

October 15, 2009 12:21 PM

ABC's Christophe Schpoliansky reports from Paris:

Who is the chicest lady in Paris? Well it’s not France’s first lady Carla Bruni! The former supermodel and now wife of French President Nicolas Sarkozy came fifth in an online poll conducted to find the most chic woman in Paris.

Results of the poll, conducted by Le Figaroscope, the entertainment supplement of pro-Sarkozy newspaper Le Figaro, were made public yesterday.

French model Inès de la Fressange, another former supermodel, was named the winner. For 29.48% of the people who voted for her, Fressange personifies what today’s Parisian woman should be. She is praised for her “great class”, her “remarkable culture” and even her “perfect physique”. Vetou, one of the voters, wrote on the newspaper website that Inès de la Fressange “represents French classiness, with simplicity, grace and this nice smile that seems to be meant for you…”.

Carla Bruni-Sarkozy received 8.6% of the votes. Echectotal (translation: total failure), wrote that Bruni-Sarkozy is “the favorite of the French, without any doubt. Everyone loves her. Kids have all her albums and her picture on their Ipod screen”.

Antinous, another voter, even went as far as to propose the name of…Paris Hilton.

Carl Bruni? Did the First Lady of France have one of "those" operations?

That photo of Inès de la Fressange must not be a good one, as she looks like a man in drag. She must be more feminine that that photo. ugh!

Personally I think she looks a little creepy in that photo. Can you be creepy and chic?

It's hard to know what this article is about, other than as a hit piece. Is the Editor on holiday?
