We can get into pretty heated arguments here at World News but none of us can recall coming to blows over an editorial disagreement. We also think of The Washington Post’s Style Section as, shall we say, a less stressful part of that paper. Well, boy were we wrong. Read on...

My initial reaction was that Gene Robinson and E.J. Dionee finally had enough of Krauthammer, Gerson, and Kristol. But alas, just a couple of silly fashionistas.

"The Style" section of the Washington Post, regardless of the subject, uses the English language in a rather special way--heightend, semi-poetical, given to unusual similes and metaphors. It had not occurred to me that it would spill over into something else.
