Quotes of the Day: 'I'm a recovering politician...'
November 03, 2009 12:59 PM
“Interviews with voters across Iowa offer a window into how the president’s standing has leveled off, especially among the independents and Republicans who contributed not just to his margin of victory in the caucuses here but also to the optimism among his supporters that his election would be a break from standard-issue politics.” -- Jeff Zeleny, The New York Times
“Sarah Palin thinks the answer to energy is ‘Drill, baby, drill.’ It's a lot more complicated, Sarah.” -- Vice President Joe Biden, campaigning for Democrat Bill Owens against Republican (and Palin choice) David Hoffman in upstate New York
“We are aware of the difficulties of our governance and the environment in which we live. We will keep trying our best to address the questions that we have, facing Afghanistan and to ensure that the wishes of Afghan people come true towards an effect, clean government, legally bound.” -- Hamid Karzai, President (again) of Afghanistan.
“I doubt that very seriously. I’m a recovering politician... I’m on about step nine now.” -- Former Vice President Al Gore, asked by Diane Sawyer about a possible return to politics

Why don't you provide Mrs.Palin's response as well. Let's see if you can be "fair and balanced."

That would be to easy H, ABC was a strong supporting media for the Obama Administration, they are not about to publish anything that may further make that administration look worse then they already do

That is a lagit question from H, ABC. Why don't you publish it all instead of just bits and pieces. Are you afraid that you may actually be known as an Unbias media station and will not be allowed in the white house again ?

I don't think Iran/Iraq/Venezuela/et all would like it if we were independent of foreign oil Boo hoo. Lets try it...see what happens.

Someone as vacuous and so lacking intelligence as to be a journalism major who never read a major newspaper and a governor of Alaska who knew nothing of the Exxon-Valdez Supreme Court case has been heard from entirely too much already. Thank you. Do you mean "legit" and "White House"? You certainly write at Sarah's level.

As long as the USA barter its priunciple for oil it will be in DS all over the World. One cannot accept insults and misbehaviour from individuals such as Mr. Chavez or Mr. President of Iran or wherever and than continue to import their goods, even if it is oil.the US makes itslef the laughing stock and looses credibility. If one insults me or my wife or my kids, I buy nothing from him. Thas's all. NOTHING ....

"A recovering politician": spoken like a philosopher: recovering from addiction to power, ceremony, being at the center of things. To paraphrase Shakespeare, "Nothing became him in politics like his leaving it."

"Cap and Tax" and Obamacare are un-American and defy our constitution.
