What Does Google Know About You?

November 05, 2009 9:44 AM

The world’s most popular search engine has been under pressure to reveal what it knows about users.  Specifically histories of what folks search for.  European regulators have pressed the company to discard user data after a specific period of time.

Today, Google is launching a new application called “Dashboard”.  If you use Gmail or if you’ve signed on to Youtube – or any of the other Google services - you can access an account “history”.  Check it out here.  Time will tell how far this effort will go to satisfy those who want Google to open the books on what they know about users.
