Coming Up: A Special Edition of "This Week with George Stephanopoulos"
May 01, 2008 4:48 PM
LIVE ONE-HOUR PROGRAM TO BE BROADCAST FROM INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA ON SUNDAY, MAY 4, 2008
On Sunday May 4, George Stephanopoulos will anchor a special edition of “This Week with George Stephanopoulos” from Indianapolis, IN with Senator Hillary Clinton (D-NY). Just days before the crucial Indiana and North Carolina primaries, the Senator will take questions from Mr. Stephanopoulos and voters in studio in Indianapolis and others via satellite from North Carolina. “This Week” has extended similar invitations to both Senator Obama and Senator McCain.

What a beautiful thought. And have you extended similar invitations to Obama and McCain right before make or break primaries? I cannot imagine how George Stephanopoulos can imagine that he has any creditability left, but perhaps is instead working toward abandoning the "news" for a reentry into a clinton administration.

Isn't this a 'conflict of interest' with George Stephanopoulus being an ex-Clinton employee. Didn't the disastrous debate teach ABC anything?

I assume Senator Obama and Senator McCain will also get a free 1 hour campaign ad, right? You have to at least appear objective George....

Great! Can't wait for Sunday! Thanks ABC.

yeah I guess ABC signed their contract...
too bad it was with the wrong candidate.
I am sure it will be a great interview for posterity...the ex-first lady who was in the senate for 6 years but then trashed her party and couldn't get re_elected (because her numbers even in the state were so low to begin with).
old woman yells at cloud.
I don't think anyone is going to be watching...Meet the Press is where the next president is going to be.

Yes, the last debate was disastrous, but only for OBAMA. He isn't used to being asked tough questions and obviously has no clue on the answers. So as all can see he is running scared with no more debates. Is he going to run back to Kenya when more stuff comes out and he is questioned on it?

Tune in Sunday for...
"Old woman yells at cloud."

Obama gets free airtime all the time...in violation of all kinds of laws. Every major network allowed him to give a "race speech" the first time he attempted to distract America from his "crazy uncle" by talking about race instead of policies and positions. It's all about judgement.
Democratic leadership should not make the mistake of believing that the race is tearing us apart...some of us are staying in the party because Hillary still has a chance.
I think the media and the often rude Obama bloggers forget that there are millions of Hillary supporters. And we have not been treated with respect (FL and MI hint hint) at all during this election. It makes a difference in the Fall....McCain is not 4 more years of Bush...He's a maverick centrist who has often crossed the party line.
Shutting down the election, not playing it out will split the party.

I see George is still a Clinton staffer after all!

How in God's name does ABC News justify this blatantly biased and pandering display? Once again, the All Backing Clinton network is showing its colors. So much for broadcasting in the public interest. I will never watch this disgraceful excuse for "news" again.
You should be ashamed of yourself, George. But, I'm sure you're not. Conscience is not a Clinton backer's strong suit.

This screams of Network the movie. If too young to know it please see it on DVD because this is all about $ and scandal. HFS

Margaret,
Isn't that beautiful! Isn't that just as beautiful as Joe Andrew's sudden switch in allegiance?? First with Hillary, now with NOBama. Why didn't he endorse NObama weeks ago BUT just now?? Maybe to give the guy some good press... He desperately needs it now!

Sounds like free advertising to me. I guess the ridiculous debate in Pennsylvania wasn't enough. I think to look a little less biased, you might make some effort to offer the same coverage to the other two candidates.

When will ABC acknowledge the Pentagon media analyst scandal? All of the brodcast media has been in bed with Bush and Cheney in selling this illegal war. You were had! You are no better than Bush. If it will embarrass just ignore it. Screw the public!

Oh stop whining Obamanations. Your messiah is spending a full hour with Tim Russert on Sunday. It will be a walk in the clouds for Obama! A full hour to talk like the lying politician that he is! I'm sure full of stories of his tough youth in Hawaii, he'll skip over life in Indonesia and the muslim thing, and there will be no mention of that nasty Reverend and Ayers, or Rezko, or Khalidi, or Auchi. I'll skip Obama and watch Hillary.
GO HILLARY 08!

Looking forward to this special edition! Thank you ABC! We had ENOUGH of Obama's fancy speeches... He's been given ENOUGH free time!
Posted by: DMK | May 1, 2008 5:30:14 PM
I guess most of the people are missing the point that "The Week" extended the invitation to Obama and McCain as well. I wonder why such people just jump to conclusions without reading the whole article with patience......

Go Hillary! George is one of the only decent objective journalists out there. Maybe if BO had any substance, he would debate Hillary without a moderator, as she suggested.

Gosh. Peter Jennings has got to be rolling over in his grave.

ABC, this is appauling! You have no decency.
This is clearly a conflict of interest. The public isn't stupid. It is well known that Stephanopoulos worked for Bill Clinton. It is impossible for him to be neutral or objective.
You have a responsibility to the public and you are failing at miserable.
I have boycotted ABC, Disney, and all of their advertisers. I will continue to do so indefinitely and so will all of my immediate and extended family members.
