Brian Bluhm, 25, Cedar Rapids, IA
April 18, 2007 7:18 PM
Originally from Ceder Rapids, Iowa, Bluhm was a graduate student in engineering who has been described by friends as an avid sports fan and a devoted member of his Bible study group. Bluhm was only one class shy of receiving his master's degree, which focused on water resources.
One friend, Bill Jones, a chemical engineering student who went to undergraduate and graduate school with Bluhm, told the Des Moines Register, "He's a great friend, had a great personality."

There are no words to leaven the pain of your loss and this tragedy. But the following is a humble offering that hopefully will bring some comfort, when you feel the sun shining again:
In the rising of the sun and in its going down, we remember them.
In the blowing of the wind and in the chill of winter, we remember them.
In the opening of buds and in the warmth of summer, we remember them.
In the beginning of the year and when it ends, we remember them.
So long as we live they, too, shall live for they are now a part of us as we remember them.

Dennis and family - My heartfelt sympathy for your loss. Even though I never met your son, just reading what friends say of him, you had a wonderful son that is going to be missed by so many. God called him along with a lot of young people back home to be with him once again. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.

I have read the personal profiles of all 32 victims of this tradgedy. I can't help but notice the commonality of a belief in God. Evil did not triumph on April 16. God was waiting in the wings to lead his children home.
My sorrow to the families and friends left behind.

I grieve with you for the loss of such a beautiful person. May you find comfort through family/friends support and precious memories. Please do not be filled with hate but instead love like there is no tommorow. We don't know why such tragedies have to happen, but through such pain we need to create positive change. My faith has me believe that you will all be reunited again someday. Please accept my prayers and love.

To the Bluhm Family:
Please accept our deepest sympathy. We were so sorry to hear of your loss and this tragedy. You can take comfort in the thought that soon death will be a thing of the past. "He will actually swallow up death forever, and the Sovereign Lord Jehovah will certainly wipe the tears from all faces." (Isaiah 25:8; Revelation 21:3,4)It is our sincere hope that you will find the needed comfort and strength now and in the days ahead. (2 Corinthians 1:2-7) We will keep you in our prayers and thoughts.

Our thoughts, blessings and prayers are with you in this awful time of loss and grief. It is so grim for all of us that such a mental misfit could take so much from you and from this world. Please know we are thinking of you, feeling at least some measure of the pain and devastation.
